Normally I throw our toys in the dishwasher or washing machine to clean/sanitize. What do you use as a baby safe way to clean toys that can't go in either? Some type of wipe? Vinegar mixture cleaning solution?
FFFC? I have never cleaned toys. I've wiped down stuff that got spit up on with a wet paper towel and I've thrown barfed on lovies in the washing machine but that's it.
Uh, yeah. I'm in the same camp as @ASmallWonder , the only time I've cleaned toys is after she's been really sick, or if they look particularly gross. I give the dust collecting ones a quick wipe every now and then
I'm the same as @ASmallWonder and @daffy2k . But the other day, my H got him a new ball and wouldn't give it to him until it was cleaned. He asked me what I used for that sort of thing, and I just said the spray we use for the high chair.- it is some baby cleaning spray someone gave us. I didn't have the heart to tell him I normally don't clean toys...
Team no toy cleaning. I actually found some crusted food on a baby toy the other day and I'm honestly not sure which kid it's from so it's possible it's survived two years and an interstate move. If it's that bad I fire up the steamer to loosen gunk (I use a portable steamer on kid chairs and table that have gotten smeared with grossness once a month) and then wipe with a half vinegar half water solution. I use a vinegar water solution in a bottle on just about everything in my house for cleaning.
I think the only toys I've cleaned are bath toys that have been pooped on, and Sophie when she starts to look gross. But Benjamin hasn't had anything persistent or terribly contagious.
Along these lines - sorry to hijack a little bit ...
I bought a huge box of megabloks from a yard sale. I'm tempted to just give them to LO, but should I maybe dump them in the bathtub with a spot of bleach just in case?
Well I'm 14 months into this and just now asking... we haven't cleaned yet... even when he's been sick or they are brand new. WHOOPS.
Buuuuttttt I thought after 14 months it was time for a quick cleaning before new baby comes. We have a safe disinfectant we use on the high chair, I suppose I'll just spray and wipe a few times. Glad I'm not the only one who isn't obsessive about this!

I bought used megablocks. I put the whole set in the dishwasher!
MIL needed to run out and buy a pacifier for DD because I forgot to leave one for nap time. She mentioned that she boiled the pacifier before she gave it to DD. In my head I though of how I would have just run it under some water (not even soap) and handed it over.
