Help me style this table

I'm obsessive, this is know is true. Just help. I can't decide if I like the mirror and mail basket together. I'm thinking I may move the mirror to the gallery wall I'm doing and get something bigger for that space. Or I could get a small shelf to go under it. I'm going to cut the flowers down to where the sit up straight in the vase, and of course get candles for the sticks. And I have some decorative boxes picked out for the bottom. Thoughts? I'm just not feeling it yet.

  • Love the table!! I would center the mirror and but the mail box elsewhere.

Love it, @meglew‌. I think I'm going to switch either the flowers or the candlesticks for a lamp when I find the right one.

Eta: just realized that's the same table. Too funny. :)

  • Sorry, it didn't post my text.  Anyways, as you can see, we have the same table in our entryway.  Usually, there are fresh cut flowers in the vase that I rotate each, I just have not gone to the farmer's market yet.  And I ordered a pic of my girls for the frame.  I really like our mirror (from IKEA) and think it would be awesome in your space.  I covered up the print in the frame b/c it contains our ln.

I much prefer fresh flowers, but I know I'd suck about replacing them. I wish we had an ikea nearby; their prices are so much better than what we have around here. I do love that mirror.

I like the idea of this, but it's just where it goes best. I like having it next to the table where I sort mail.

I usually will just go to the farmer's market or pick some flowers up at the store each week when I do shopping.  I also have a vase in our dining room I buy some for.  TJ's has a great selection and I can usually get beautiful and seasonal flowers for under $5 per vase.  It is something that makes me happy each week!  The lamp is actually from IKEA too.  I would love to put some baskets on the bottom shelf at some point, but my DD2 would rip those suckers out each day.  I will have to wait until she is less destructive (hopefully someday :-)).

  • Also wanted to say that I love the blue table with the yellow and white that you have!  So fun!

  • We also don't have a TJ's here. Walmart's $5 flowers are jank, lol.

  • I would lower the mail baskets; there's too much space between them and the table!  Get rid of the mirror.  Swap the candlesticks and the vase, and put some sort of big, colorful, eye-catching candles on them.

Well, I'd like to still have a mirror by the entryway (so I can sneak peeks on my way out the door). I know the basket needs to be lower, but I was trying to keep it close to the mirror, which if I lower, I won't be able to see in. I suppose getting a bigger mirror would help both of those situations, so then I could lower the basket.

  • I would lower the baskets and bring them to the edge of the table a bit more.  Bigger mirror on the other side.  I would also swap the vase and candlesticks too.  Since the candle sticks are taller, if you lower the basket, I think they would be too similar of a height and it would be better to break it up, especially if you put colorful pillar candles on them (perhaps yellow or a soft green).

Gotcha.  Yea, I'd go with a larger mirror and then lower the baskets over.
  • I would move either the mirror or mailbox and center whatever you keep there. I'm also curious if your DS can reach anything on that table? I know my LOs are around his age, and there's no way I'd be putting flower vases or candlesticks so near the edge.....

The only thing he really goes for is the change tray. Normally after about 10 times of telling him not to touch something, he knows to leave it alone. I know I'm lucky to have such a good listener. :)

@rainbowdasher‌, I agree about them not being scaled. That's what I'm working on. Thanks for the suggestions!

  • I don't love the color or scale of the mirror. I'd love a larger mirror in a wood frame, preferably a rectangle.

That's what I think I'm going to get, but white. I like that this current mirror is gray because it's one of my main colors for the room, but I don't love how satiny the finish is. I may spray paint it.

  • I don't like both of them on the wall.  I would get a bigger mirror and center it with the table.
