So my sister/best friend want to throw me a baby shower, which is very sweet. But in creating a guest list I just...don't have that many people to invite. I have just a few close friends and feel weird inviting people I consider work friends or acquaintances. Is it awkward to have a shower with 10 or less people in attendance? (Most of which do not know each other!) I feel a little like a loser.
Re: Awkward feeling...
N14 Nov. Siggy: CELEBRATION!
I think showers are awkward in general. Personally, I would prefer a smaller one because I feel like I don't have to run around to everyone and have an intense conversation for the 5 minutes that I can allocate to them. I had a shower last weekend and my grandma and aunt (who threw the party) invited EVERY FREAKING WOMAN in our family or who lived in the neighborhood or who might have coughed in my general direction at one point in my childhood. It was super awkward and I hated it....even though I appreciate it....
I think 10 people would have been perfect
I love small showers! They are so much more personal and fun IMO. Don't be concerned about having a small shower, all that matters is that the people attending are there to celebrate you and your LO- they won't notice the number of people there.
One piece of advice though- I made my shower list and thought it was complete, but then realized as the days went on that I had forgotten people. I think I ended up adding 4 or 5 people that I hadn't thought of initially. I recommend giving yourself a couple of days to process before you give the list to your sister.
@kyliedaniellexx won't all your porn star friends be there?

I like smaller intimate gatherings where you get to talk to everyone. I think I'd feel more awkward with a bunch of people I didn't know all that well watching me open presents for an hour!
