What the hell CEO's at Empire State Building?

So, I have been following this story for obvious reasons, but apparently parents of children with cancer have been formally asking the Empire State Building to light up gold for 1 NIGHT in September to bring awareness to childhood cancer. They denied it I believe 2 years in a row. They also state that any petition or post on social media will not be considered, and from what I gathered have been deleting posts on their Facebook page in reference to them declining it. 

I get it. You can't light up for every cause. It is unreasonable, etc. 

However, I would be a lot more understanding if they didn't just light up the Empire State Building GREEN for the freakin' Ninja Turtles.

    These are some of the things that it has been lit up for:

    Some events: World Cup, World Oceans Day, Alliance for Young Authors and Writers, Little League, Police Memorial Week, National EMS week, etc.

    Some of the causes I do agree with---but if it IS money, I highly doubt or maybe naive enough to believe that the causes would pay them to be lit up. 

    I am still furious. 

    Especially since what they are pulling now--they have deleted my comment and others from Facebook pages, and are trying to censor all comments in regarding this so people don't know. Please, please share this with everyone you know to get the word out.
