Another AW: worst ultrasound appt yet

Guys. I'm so angry. I ugly cried on the way out of the hospital. First, we had a student tech which is fine. She agreed to try the 3D for us so I was happy. She took FOREVER to get the measurements she needed and she pushed SO HARD in the same spot over and over and it hurt so bad.. then the real tech came over and double checked the kidney pics and told us that she "didnt think 3D would work today because she needs fluid around her face" for it to work. She wouldn't even TRY for us.. then they sent us out without any pictures or anything.. I've gotten 4-5 pictures from evwry ultrasound. I started ugly crying as soon as we left the room. Worst u/s appt I've ever had. And if her kidneys are better it could be our last. Then we go to walgreens to get DH his TDAP vaccine only to find they're on backorder until October. Thats fucking awesome, because I called this walgreens YESTERDAY and was told they had them.. I wish I could drink right now. Such a horrible start to what shouldve been a fun night with DH.

    SUCK! I'm sorry your U/S appointment didn't go the way you wanted it to. FX her kidney's are ok ;-) Some days I definitely miss cracking open a bottle of wine. I hope your dinner goes better

    Oh no! So sorry it was a shit appointment. Hopefully baby's kidneys are doing well. And the tdap thing is freaking me out, I better see it ours is out too.

    That shit is annoying as hell. Definitely fill out a comment card about the U/S tech situation - they do get read. I worked in an Imaging Dept of a major hospital here for 2 years and every month our supervisor read the comment cards out loud and discussed any negative ones.

    That does sound awful, I had an u/s yesterday and DH didn't come because we let our moms come instead (their birthdays are this week) and even though I got pictures you can't really see anything because baby has gotten so big and cramped.  The ones from two weeks ago were much better.

    FX that the kidneys are looking great and you are not far from getting outside pictures of your little girl!!

    I'm sorry it didn't work out :0( I was really disappointed with my 3D I had at my Dr's office too, same reason, not enough fluid around his face because he was smashed up against the wall. It put me in a bad mood the rest of the day! Do what I did and schedule an appt to get another 3D. Costs money but it sure was worth it!!!!!

    On the bright side, sounds like kidneys are doing good!!

    What a bunch of crap! Also, why didn't your OB give you the TDAP shot? I didn't have to go anywhere to get mine, they just stuck me at my last appointment.

    I'm sorry your appointment was disappointing, but hopefully everything they could see looked good. At least it won't be too long before you get to see and hold your baby without any obstructions!

    Thanks everyone. I had some sour skittles before the appointment so I'm thinking I probably should pass on the ice cream. :( But ugh what a frustrating day.. the restaurant got my order wrong to top it off. I think I need to just go to bed.

    Um I think you need ice cream. Sour skittles? That doesn't count for anything except maybe a late morning/early afternoon snack.

    This.  I know too many people for whom the worst ultrasound involved no beating heart or other terrible news.  It sounds like yours was just uncomfortable and disappointing.


    I guess I should have clarified that of all the u/s appts I've had, this was the worst so far. And I obviously realize it could have been much worse in that sense.

    I'm sorry you had such a disappointing appt and that the vaccine wasn't available, but FX that the kidneys are fine and you don't need another ultrasound. That would be very good news. And just think, you have all those other good pics and soon enough you'll not need pics as baby will be here.

    Sorry things didn't go as well as you would have liked at your u/s! FX that baby girls kidneys are measuring well! Hopefully today will be a better day than yesterday! Hugs girlie!
