I am looking still for a decent kitchen table option. I figure the cheaper I go, I won't get upset when the kids (and myself) ruin it. I am basically buying it with limited expectancies...That being said I found an adorable, super inexpensive table at target...see link. Does it match the chairs I chose from overstock? My mom says absolutely not, but her house is decorated very traditional with brown woods and leather, and that is really all she likes. What do you think...yay or nay?
Sorry, your mom is right. The table is cute and the chairs are cute, but they're totally different styles. If I saw them together I would assume the person was making do with various hand-me-downs, which is cool (and a lot if my house is like that). I would never think someone would buy those to go together.
Sorry I've got to go with no match. They're just very different looks. Well wait, white and white? Maybe. But there's still something fundamental about the style of the two that clashes for me.
Did you already buy the chairs? What color? I just did the quickest search and found that but I'm sure you could find something easily that would be a little more modern in style.
I would get a solid hardwood table because it will last longer. You could get a used set for the prices of these new but then you won't have to replace in 3 years. I do like the World Market set.
I like the chairs way more than the table, so keep those and start looking again. IKEA is a two hour drive from B'ham and there is a service that will bring it to you here!
What about a rustic darker wood table - really clean lines but wide planks or a little knotty. That would go with the chairs. The one you posted is too country/traditional.
