Upcoming 2nd IUI, what did you do after?

I am on my last night of Femara and feel a bit crampy. I have a CD12 u/s to see if I'm ready for a trigger shot, last cycle I triggered on CD14 and went to work after having the IUI's (b2b) and was wondering if maybe I should take it easy this cycle and maybe go home after. My RE wanted to try 2 IUI cycles before talking about more options. If you have had IUI before what did you do after the procedure?

Me (29), DH (38)

Oct 2009   - Married
Aug 2011   - Started TTC
Jan 2012   - OB Referred to RE
Feb 2012   - RE Visit #1
Apr 2012   - HSG (Normal), PCOS - DH SA (low count and low motility)  
June 2012   - Provera, Clomid, TI - BFN
July 2012   - IUI #1, Provera, Clomid 50mg, Trigger Injection - BFN
Aug 12 - Feb 14 - Break
Feb 2014   - New OB referred to new RE
Mar 2014   - New RE visit #1
Apr 2014    - TSH  level elevated, need to retest.
May 2014   - TSH retested, higher than 1st test. Start on Synthroid. DH SA (Normal)
June 2014   - Start on DHEA, CO-Q10, New brand of Prenatals
July 2014   - Cycle came on its own, b/w on CD2, TSH (normal), Femara CD3-CD7, CD14 - u/s + Ovidrel + baby aspirin regimen. IUI #1 B2B on CD15/16 - BFN

August 2014 - u/s on CD3 normal, Femara CD3-CD7, u/s CD12, Ovidrel on CD13. IUI #2 B2B on CD 14/CD15 - BFN.

September  2014 - u/s on CD3 normal, Femara CD3-CD7, u/s scheduled for CD12

    I went home and took a long nap, and just rested the rest of the day. They say it's not necessary but it made me feel better.

    3DT of 3 embies - no frosties - CP = BFFN!!!!

    We went home and had sex. Then I went to sleep because I had been up for 30 hours thanks to my awesome work schedule. My RE did the IUI and then told me to go about my day. Good luck!

    My husband and I went to lunch afterwards! Took the day off from work that day which was nice!
    Me: 37 DH: 37, married since Sept. 2013. "actively" TTC for a total of 13 months (after 7 months of TTC, took a 1 1/2 year hiatus due to work scheduling and wedding planning. Started up again after our wedding in Sept.) First evaluation by an RE November 2013

    HSG-normal
    OH-tiny polyp found, but RE assured me she doesn't think it's contributing to infertility and doesn't recommend me to remove it because it's so small.
    DH's SA-normal
    Hormones all within normal levels
    Ovarian Reserve-RE says "is great" she's not concerned about my egg quantity (which I was until I saw her and results came back good!) 

    04/2012 50mg Clomid=BFN (prescribed by OBGYN, not monitored)
    06/2012 50mg Clomid=BFN (prescribed by OBGYN, not monitored)
    11/2013 100mg Clomid, with HCG trigger=BFN (prescribed by RE, monitored with US (2 dominant follicles) and baseline bloodwork done)
    01/2014 100mg Clomid, with HCG trigger-(prescribed by RE, monitored with US-1 dominant follicle)=BFN
    06/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, HCG trigger (prescribed by RE, monitored with US-2 dominant follicles), IUI #1 on 7/3/14=BFN
    07/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, benched for IUI#2 this cycle, because I ovulated on my own before my follicular US. Progesterone suppositories=BFN Diagnosed with PCOS this month too. Testosterone levels high at 76. =( 
    08/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, HCG trigger with 19mm follicle. IUI#2 on 8/31 cancelled last minute due to family emergency. 
    09/2014 Taking a 3 month break starting this month. If not pregnant in 3 months, will start up again with medicated cycles and IUIs. Had all my labs and AFC re-evaluated this month also. RE says nothing much has changed since my eval last November, okay for me to take a little break. =)

    Did any of you ladies stayed laying down on the table after the IUI? Just curious, after the nurse inseminated me, she told me I could get up right away and do my normal activity. I've read it doesn't matter if you stay laying down or not, but have read some providers prefer you to lay down for 10-15 min? I think I might ask if I can remain laying after the IUI next time.

    I was told to lay there for 10 or 15 minutes (I can't remember which). Not sure it really matters though.

    I was told to lay there for 10 or 15 minutes (I can't remember which). Not sure it really matters though.
    I usually go about my day like normal. I get nervous about moving around too much, though I know that is ridiculous.

    At my RE's office, they have me lay there for 10 mins, but it sounds like (both from them, and various articles) this isn't really necessary.

    My RE says to go about your day as normal. We also don't have 10-15min wait immediately after.

    The nurse usually has me wait on table about 15 min. We usually then go to lunch, dinner, etc
    I always take the day off, just because, but my RE has told me that I'm free to resume normal activity

    4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012)
    All RPL and IF testing with multiple REs = normal

    5 IUIs = BFN

    All AL are welcome

    The RE had me lay there for ten minutes but then said I had no restrictions. I'm not teaching this summer though so I just went home and hung out on the couch.

    Hysteroscopy- clear
    SA- 11 mil count
    45% motility
    Diagnosis: MFI
    July 2014: Femera 5mg CD 4-8, Trigger, IUI = BFN
    August 2015: Femera 5mg CD 4-8, Trigger, IUI = BFN
    September 2015: Femera 5mg CD 4-8, Trigger, IUI = BFN
    May 2018 after long period of not trying, starting adoption process with family friend's newborn
    November 2018 Adoption complete!

    Thank you ladies! My RE had me wait 20 minutes after both IUI 's last cycle, I imagine it would be the same this next cycle. It will be a hectic week at work and I'm debating if I should ask for the day off or half a day to rest a bit after the procedure and then go to work.

    They propped my hips upon the table and I laid there talking to my husband for 15 minutes. We BD'd that afternoon (not fun) and I just took it easy for the most part. I teach, so I was off from work.

    @jennym25‌ looks like we are cycle buddies and also just finished Ferema yesterday. The nurse usually has me lie on the table for 10-15min afterward. Then I usually go along my day as usual. If I could I would prob take the day off but it's usually not an option for me. Eat well and relax-good luck!

    I've read that staying propped on the table for 20 minutes increases chances slightly (according to a study) so that's a non-negotiable for me!

    My RE has had me lay down for 10 - 15 minutes before taking off.  But they did say that once the "guys" are in there I can't really do anything to mess it up so they encourage me to go about my day.  After both of my IUIs I have felt crazy tired though and wound up going home and taking a nap.  We also BD'd after both to attempt to increase our chances.  :)

    @jennym25 - Not for me but I know that's not everyone's experience.  I only had very mild cramping after IUI and that only lasted a few hours.  We didn't BD until way later that night so I wasn't even feeling the cramping anymore.

    I also had B2B IUI's and after the first I went to work and after the second I went home. My second IUI B2B I went home and rested. I pretty much used the TTW as an excuse not to exercise or do anything strenuous. Do what you feel comfortable with, but if your work is flexible and you can go home afterwards, why not? Good luck!!

    Me: 33, DH: 32

    TTC: 2 years
    Fertility blood tests all normal
    Tilted uterus
    3 day ultrasound 17 follicles
    HSG: 11/13/13- tubes open
    DH SA: SUPER sperm (145 million, 84% motility, 22% morphology)
    All infection disease and immunity blood tests NORMAL
    FIRST IUI May 2014: 100 mg Clomid days 5-9, third ultrasound CD 13 revealed four follicles 27, 24 and 20 and 13mm. Trigger shot May 28 with IUI May 29 and 30 (fingers crossed) - BFN started spotting 11DPO :(

    IUI #2 B2B 6/23 and 6/24, three mature eggs and 130 million sperm! FX this is the month!  BFN 7/8

    3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests -  BFN

    3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI  (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

    Officially benched until March....but still plan on trying the baking soda douche due to my excessive and thick CM

    JANUARY SIGGY CHALLENGE...This is so me!

    Love this man....he was so before his time in his thoughts and ideas about the world....been obsessed about him lately bringing it back to the early 90s.
