I'm going to my brother in-law's wedding in Cape May, NJ next week. The wedding is at 5PM in the garden of an old hotel. My husband is the best man and my daughter is the flower girl.
First, I really struggled to find something I felt was appropriate for this beach, but not on the beach wedding. I wanted to look ok in pictures with my husband and daughter, but not look like I was trying to be in the wedding party. My husband is wearing a medium gray suit (I think a mintish colored tie) and my daughter is wearing a pink and cream checked dress. The bride's dress, while beautiful, is very non-traditional (a petal dress with graduating color - cream to pink). The bridesmaids dresses are pink coral, strapless, and above the knee. Do you think the dress I linked is too old lady? I'm 30, for reference. The pattern too loud? I am fashion challenged to say the least. I tried so many different style of dresses on, and felt like this one was a good choice, but maybe it's because it felt "safe"!
If you think this dress is appropriate, what style/color of shoe would you recommend? I was looking for a metallic sandal to dress it up a bit, but if you zoom in on the pattern, you'll see a weird brownish gray color that makes it hard for me to decide which metallic color would look right. I don't love my legs, so something that makes them look thinner, without wearing super high heels (I'll likely be carrying my 2 year old around some), is a plus. I am a un-toned size 6.
Thanks!

Thanks for all the votes of confidence! I feel much better; now I just need to find the shoes! Thank you also, for all the suggestions!
I think figuring out what to wear is more difficult with this wedding, because there are only a handful of my dh's family members going. It is a destination wedding for us (we are in the Midwest). So, we have no idea how dressy the majority of the bride's guests will be.
LalaMama - the wedding will be at the Chalfont Hotel. I'm from the east (Pennsylvania), but I've never been to Cape May.
