November 2014 Moms

This is weird.....right?!?!?!

I found something very weird about baby kicks.

So to start off I'm just gonna put out there that I have an Anterior Placenta so I already know that feeling kicks is very lite or limited.  But what is weird to me is I have read that usually you will feel movement when you are laying down and not moving.  Which I can usually tell where LO is because a have certain sides of my bump that are more hard.  (if that makes any sense)  But I usually only feel her kick a lot when I'm up walking around.

TO me this just seems weird, I have a appointment next Thursday with my OB so I was planning on asking her if it was something normal.  Have any of you STM's or even some FTM's having this experience now

I have an AP. I notice most of my kicks when I'm lying or sitting down.

I don't think what your experiencing is all that weird, though.

  • I think it's different from woman to woman and from one pregnancy to the next.  You could definitely mention it to your OB and see what she says though.  I used to only notice kicks when I was laying down.  Now that she's bigger, I notice them laying or standing (but not usually when I'm busy/at work as much).

  • I also have an anterior placenta. I almost never feel kicks when I am walking. Occasionally I feel them while standing, but that has only happened recently. I feel movement when I am doing my make up in the bathroom and lean up against the sink, he likes to kick against anything that is pressed up against my tummy. I feel him move all the time now while sitting and laying down.
  • I feel them usually when sitting or lying down, but I've started to notice them while swimming.  I'll swim 3-4 laps, stop and stand to rest, then get kicked.  Then I'll swim 3-4 more, stop, and get kicked.  It goes on like this for almost the duration of my workout.  She might be kicking while I'm actively swimming, but I can't feel it.
