Do you feel like you have been more/less productive (at work and/or home) during pregnancy?

Re: CPW: Pregnancy and your productivity

  • I am sure you can guess - just because I asked the question - that I am waaaaaaaay less productive.

I am so tired, but also just unmotivated. It's also hard right now to sit at a computer or to stand up in the kitchen for any length of time.

  • 1st tri so less productive. I'm just so tired doing people hair is literally hell for me right now. Not to mention all the skipped house chores lol
  • I'm in 2nd tri and actually still on summer break, but I am definitely less motivated. Plenty motivated to do fun nursery crafts, but not at all motivated to change anything on my fall syllabi. It's going to be a "just get through it" semester for me.

  • I'm in second tri. I know I felt better by now with my 2 pregnancies that made it this far. Unfortunately with this pregnancy I am still feeling really lousy. I am just hoping that this nausea doesn't last the entire pregnancy.

I completely agree with @birch113  I'm still waiting on that "energy burst."  I definitely have more energy than first tri but no where near as productive as I was in April LOL

  • My 1st tri was DRAMATICALLY less productive, but as the 2nd tri is rolling around, it's a little bit better.

  • I feel my productivity level is about the same as ever. I did notice in 1st tri being much more tired at the end of the day. Now in 2nd tri, I need to keep up with hydrating myself otherwise I am dragging and my ankles are puffy by the end of the day. I am on my feet most of the day, so that doesn't help I'm sure, but it does keep me moving!

You have a VERY good reason to be less productive...  one more day until your due date!  Woooooo!  Soooo excited for you!

  • I'm 1st Tri and waaay less productive.  I told a co-worker the other day I feel like I'm failing forward...which isn't good when you are calculating all of the executives bonuses in the company!

  • Second trimester more productive since no ms or progesterone supp . Now being told will need shots p17 so if like stupid supp , I won't hardly be able to get off couch. So bummed and I hate needles , hope I can do it:(

  • 1st tri and I feel like I have mono most evenings. I'm exhausted and just crash so early. Definitely less productive and very thankful for my wonderful husband who is spoiling me right now!

Yes!  I mentioned that to DH and he said, "Well, I think it's just that your energy level is supposed to be back to what it was pre-pregnancy, not that you suddenly have more energy than you did before you were pregnant."

I'm 2d tri and I will say that my energy level is probably about where it was pre-pregnancy.  As for productivity, my work productivity is about the same (we've actually, blissfully, slowed down a little bit in the last week or so).  At home, I'm being more productive just because I have so much I need to do before LO gets here and I'm looking at the calendar and just watching the time fly away.

  • I've been consistent at work, but at home I'm more productive now in 2nd tri. No energy bursts, but I'm feeling more confident in this pg so I think that's why I'm more productive now. In 1st tri everybody jumped my ass if I so much as lifted a finger lol.
