Depends on the night. Sometimes drowsy but awake (but so close she falls asleep in under 3 minutes). If she is fussy like she has been since I started work, I rock and hug till she is out cold.
If she's tired she'll just fall asleep doing whatever she was already doing. If she's too tired and starting to get fussy, I'll lay on the floor with her and do silly things to make her laugh and she'll just pass out with a goofy smile on her face. I try to get a little food in her belly beforehand and rock with her. It always puts her to sleep.
I'm bath bottle bed every night, he's out cold and then you can bet he will wake as soon as he gets put down! He's gets cuddled in until he falls asleep and he's still fussy going down
Wake up from evening nap/bath/pjs/bottle. Sometimes he'll pass out during the bottle but wakes up just a bit when I lay him down and zip up his blanket and then he's out cold. No extra rocking or cuddling needed.
Pretty much this exactly. Started as a fluke one night and we just went with it. So now she knows when she's put down in her crib and the fan is on, we swaddle arms out and within 5 minutes, she's out.
She'll fall asleep on her own in her bassinet, but she'll stir and wake herself up every 10 minutes so we end up bed sharing so we can all sleep better. Hope she grows out of this phase soon!
I said awake but she's usually drowsy. I stopped pitting her down asleep because she would just wake up and get flustered. It works much better if she's almost asleep.
DS does not like to rock or be cuddled to sleep. Since I am still swaddling, he is awake when I swaddle him and put him in his pnp. I give him the pacifier and hope he falls asleep. He used to fall asleep like this without a fuss. Over the past few weeks it can take 15-30 minutes before he falls asleep. I stand outside the door and will go in to put the pacifier in and soothe him if he fusses.

Depends on the night. Sometimes he's already asleep when we go to bed and I transfer him. Other times I put him down awake and he falls asleep calmly on his own. And then sometimes I put him down awake and he isn't tolerating it so I put him in bed with me until he falls asleep and I transfer him at that point.

I picked other because sometimes he will fall asleep while nursing. Other times he won't so I lay him down awake. Sometimes he will fall asleep on his own, sometimes I need to rock the rnp to get him to drift off.

Depends on the night. Usually a nursing session and put in crib while drowsy. Sometimes it requires a lot of holding, rocking and singing--- but still put down awake typically.

Depends -- either nursed to sleep or swaddled tightly and rocked in the RNP with the paci until he falls asleep. We've managed "drowsy but awake" only a handful of times.
And, yes, we still do swaddle and RNP. He will go to college swaddled in the RNP.
I picked other. We have twins and one is pretty good about being put down awake, but the other will have nothing to do with it (and wakes her sister) so I rock her.
