Vent....that was crappy

DH is home still with us on his leave for the baby. He found out yesterday that his job is pretty much in jeopardy. We knew this was a possibility that he might lose his job someday as the company has struggled financially. At the beginning of the summer, the company announced that they were going after this big contract and if they got the contract, the side of the company DH works for would be safe and good. Well, they got the contract and it is to be signed in two weeks. Then the company said that if DH's side of the company makes the deadline for this deal, each employee will receive $5,000 bonus. Well now it comes out that the company has a potential buyer for the side of the company that DH works on. The buyer is coming next week and are in the initial plans of if they are going to buy the side of the business. If they don't buy it, essentially DH will lose his job. It also came out that they were never pursuing this big contract for the contract but the intentions were to look for a buyer. So they dangled this contract and promised employees this big bonus that I don't think they actually ever intended to give the employees.

Sigh. DH is going to see what happens with the new buyer in the next week. He is also going to get his resume ready and look for other jobs.

O my goodness....that sucks!! Not the kind of stress you guys need right now. I'll be praying that everything works out the best way possible for your DH!

As much as it sucks- maybe dust of your resume' too because you never know. I think the worst is yet to come in regard to the economy - you're not the first person I've heard who's DH is saying "the writing is on the wall" and doing everything necessary to try to show their job is vital.. I also think it's dirty whomever promised everyone a bonus if they did the work to deserve one but then not have any intentions of following through on it especially when it wasn't pocket change they were offering.. Chin up and good luck!!!
