We lost twins through IVF and would like to try again

We are on Go Fund Me trying to raise money for another round of IVF. Our first round was in 2013 and it took us three years to get to that point because of my husbands job. We ended up losing twins. -- edited by mod -- is a link to our story. We are also trying to adopt through DHS, but they said it can take up to two years. Being Military we don't stay in one place long enough and we are losing hope. We got to OK in January and started our adoption journey. Our home study was complete as of June 12th, but we are set to move again in January. Each State requires that we start a new process to get a home study for their State. It takes six months from the time a child is placed in our home before they can be legally adopted. We have submitted for 50 children ranging in age from six months to sixteen years. So far our experience has just been more heartache. Adopting through DHS is a lottery system. You submit your home study and you can be one of 100 home study's submitted for that child. They then narrow it down to three families and pick one. So far, we haven't been that one family. We were advised against foster care because a child placed would have to stay when we move and hat wouldn't be fair to the child and we agree. Now we have five months left in OK and not enough time to adopt, so we are looking to do another cycle of IVF. I just turned 40 and my husband doesn't have any children of his own. My age is just another factor we are dealing with besides us being on the move. Please read our story and if you feel compelled to help that's great! If not, just pass on our link. We will be paying it forward by helping another couple like us with any extra money we receive. Thanks and God Bless!

  • I'm sorry for the loss of your twins and the difficulties you're having trying to adopt, but do you really think it's appropriate to post here asking people to give you money? You've never participated in this community, so we don't know you.

  • I'm sorry for your losses, but this is quite rude. Every woman here is having TROUBLE TRYING TO CONCEIVE (hence the name of the forum), and we are all having to fund our own fertility treatments. Perhaps you could find a local board that could suggest some places that are hiring part time so that you could take on a second job? That's what my husband and I have done to help fund our treatments that are non-covered by insurance.

    Good luck.
