Shedding

How long does shedding last? It just started a few days ago. I'm filling my hair brush each time I brush and keep finding strands everywhere. Ewww.

Re: Shedding

  • I don't know how long it lasts, but it is making me crazy.  There is hair everywhere!

  • Same here. I'm going to make an appointment for a cut because this is ridiculous. Any time I run my hand through my hair a few more strands come out.
  • A few months, in my experience :(

  • I remember it happening after my daughter, but forget how long it lasted. I really hope it's not months.

  • Feels like forever. Is actually a few months.

  • It's been about a month for me so far I was so disgusted I went for a cut yesterday. It's still long but I made her thin it out so hopefully it helps!
  • It feels like forever. I swear I should be bald! My hair is everywhere where it shouldn't be like while I'm changing LO, finding my hair in her diaper.

  • Ugh.  It is awful.  My DH says he will find it on himself when he is at work, and I find strands of my hair in LO's clothes when I am changing her all of the time.

I think the first time around it lasted a few months.  I keep mine mostly back in a pony tail in the hopes that the falling out will be limited to when I brush it out.  I have no idea if it helps or not.  Whenever I brush or wash it, a ton falls out though.

  • Yes, it's disgusting. I swear in the shower last night I thought I'd come out to see that I was bald.
  • Telegenic effluvium can last up to 3 months- totally normal. You won't go bald and it will grow back. I'm going through it too.
  • I started a few weeks ago, and it's been beastly amounts, but my hair had gotten so seriously bushy during pregnancy.  It's finally regulating after 3 weeks...
  • Yeah I'm pretty sure the first time it lasted 2-3 months. I thought I was going to go crazy. The feeling of hair on my skin really drives me nuts. Surprisingly this time it doesn't bother me as much, but I'm still ready for it to be done.

  • Combine my shedding and the ridiculously hairy dog in this house, out of control is an understatement.

  • I don't mind that Im losing it as much as constantly pulling it out of my babies' double chins. I don't know how it finds its way in there, but Im worried it will strangle them or something.

  • I shed while pregnant and my hair gets thicker again PP. I'm backwards. But I also have horrible dandruff when pregnant and will use anything, and I mean anything to scratch it, so that may have caused the hair loss both times.
  • I'm mostly upset because my normally thin hair got so thick during pregnancy. Looks like it's going to be thin again :(.
