Don't fret dear. Its all for a good reason. I almost weighed myself this morning since it's been a while. Then I remembered that DH bought us McDonald's last night because I didn't want to cook, and thought better of weighing myself the morning after a Quarter Pounder with cheese meal. I'm trying not to stress, and you shouldn't either!
Ive gained 9 pounds (which would probably be sooo much more!!)..I lost a lot of weight the first trimester!! I was sooo sick...Just think its all for baby and its all worth it in the end!! :-) Hang in there you'll be just fine :-)

lol. I don't think 9 lbs makes anyone else feel better.

With only 10 weeks left, I doubt you'll go up all the way to over 40 lbs. Just try to make good choices and focus on the fact that it's all for a good cause. I'm up 34 lbs at almost 31 weeks. Dr simply said to try to keep the weight gain to 1/2 lb per week, which really would only be like 4-5 more lbs and I'm hoping I can do that. Last time I gained nothing in the last month and if that happens again, then that would only put me at 2-3 more lbs. Either way it doesn't matter, it's all for a good thing and after babies are born, then we can worry about the weight loss. Don't be hard on yourself.... plus you still have a ways before the weight you gained with your daughter.

Super helpful.
OP, I've been struggling with the rising numbers too, and seeing photos from my baby shower nearly put me over the edge. It's hard to deal with so many physical changes in such a short time. I'm making mostly healthy choices, I'm avoiding the scale, and reminding myself daily that my body will gain exactly what it needs to in order to support this pregnancy. I also tend to avoid the weight gain checking posts at all costs, because it's so counterproductive to compare my body to anyone else's. There are so many variables at play.

I tried to suggest this for dinner last night because of you. DH said he'd get it for me, but wouldn't eat it. So then I felt like Fatty McFatterson and didn't go. We had left over pizza, which wasn't much better.
I don't feel like shit. And it was not my intent to make anyone else feel like shit. I was just being honest. I know people gain different amounts throughout their pregnancies. Let's face it. I have a little more than 2 months left, I have no idea how much more I'm going to gain. I could gain 20 more. who knows. I was just stating what I have gained so far.

DH makes me feel this way all the time. While I'm scarfing down sour patch kids like its my job, he goes and refills his water bottle and refuses my offer of anything unhealthy I'm eating. :-| whatevski!
I've gained 17 pounds. I feel like I've gained 50.
@suprsuz then imagine how the rest of us 30ib gainers feel..
Come on now. This is why weight threads never go over well. No one is out to make anyone else feel like shit. Except maybe the girl who only gained 9 pounds
She said she gained 17 and feels like 50.. I just meant I've gained 30 and feels a lot more also! No bad vibes here
I'm up about 30lbs and I'm not quite 30 weeks yet (I will be tomorrow). It doesn't make me feel great to see that number on the scale but I honestly don't hate the way I look. I'm actually pretty happy about with my body right now, I'm all belly and I'm having fun dressing it. No one has really made any negative comments about my size so that helps but I know i'm huge lol.
Just ignore the number if you can and enjoy the reason behind it. It's a really good reason
I will admit though, I can't wait to loose the weight after LO is here and I'm really thankful that I'll have 6-7 months to do it before next summer!
Well I will make you all feel better. This is my 2nd and I have gained 44 lbs so far and I am 32 weeks +3 days. I gained 55 with my first. My doctor seems fine with my weight gain and baby is healthy so I am not going to worry about it until after I have her. It is what it is and I will worry about losing it after I have her.
