Speaking of car seats - chest clips

We have a Graco MyRide 65, which is fine (we picked it because of it's good consumer reports ratings). My problem is with the chest clips. As he gets bigger, when we drive around (30+ minutes), the chest clips have been slipping down. I have the straps tight, and always have the chest clips at armpit level.  And the straps almost seem more loose at the end of our trip. I'm thinking the looser straps could be due to him adjusting down in the seat. Anyone else have this issue?

    There's this little pad thing that he sits on (that came with the seat) that moves around too, so I'm wondering if that has to do with the problem too, since as it moves, it could make him slightly lower in the seat.

    I don't think the buckle strap is adjustable but I'll double check! That could be contributing.

    We've only had the issue since we got our new buckle and clips from the recall. I've emailed graco.
