Another double stroller post (Contours Options) :-)

Does anyone have the Contours Options stroller (Kolcraft)?  We were thinking of getting it when we outgrow our dsng (which should have happened a while ago, but I'm holding on to those infant seats for dear life!).  We have a double jogger but it's so big and heavy.  I want something easy for zoo, playground, mall, etc and like the idea of being able to have the girls face each other, face me, face out.  But I'm reading such mixed reviews on Amazon...  So, thoughts on this stroller and any plugs for your double stroller are welcome here!  TIA!

Re: Another double stroller post (Contours Options) :-)

  • I don't have it but took it for a test drive at Buy Buy Baby last Thursday. The one thing that stuck out to me was that the seats seem very short (measuring hip to knee). But I have a 4 year old that is probably going to want to ride in it too so I was trying to take that into account when looking at the different strollers.

  • I have it and love it so far (my boys are 5 months). I haven't used the seats it came with much yet since we got the extra car seat adapter.
  • I had it and LOVED it.  I also had a DSNG and the Kolcraft drove so much better, I had the extra seat adapter so I used it as a DSNG for over a year.  It was a sad day when it was time to sell it.

  • I have one. I really like it, but it is heavy in comparison to the DSNG for sure. Also, one of the things I never read in a review that I don't like about it is that you must have both seats facing forward in order to be able to collapse the stroller. It's not the easiest thing to collapse or bring back up, but I am pretty spoiled with the DSNG. The babies seem to like it and it looks like they'll be able to grow into it as there's plenty of room. Overall I'd recommend it.

  • We have a Contours and a Baby Jogger.  The Baby Jogger is much better quality and handles beautifully.  It is a little heavy and I have bruises from loading and unloading it from the trunk.  The Contours is a good second option - cheaper and not as heavy but definitely does not handle or turn as well.

We have the Options LT which when we bought it I was reading it was their lightest/shortest version. I actually got it on super sale through Amazon for $180. Incredible price for a double! My SIL paid triple that for her City Select and honestly it's the same stroller. It's the same length, seats do the same things. The frame and wheels are a little bigger on hers so it's probably heavier. The LT basket is way bigger. I am a small girl 5'1, 100lbs and it is super easy to handle and steer. And I have no problem getting it in and out of the back of our mini van. It's a little tricky at first but once you've got it down it takes 2 seconds.

I just can't justify spending $800 on a stroller but some people will pay for the brand.

It has and continues to work great for us!
  • We have the options LT and I love it! Haven't tried the actual seats yet, we bought a second adapter, but it steers well, has a HUGE basket. I love it love it!

  • We had it too (just switched to a jogger).  Overall, we were happy with it.  It lasted for 2 years.  The weight of the boys in the stroller started to cause strain/stress on my wrists.  That's about it.  I never tried folding it up with one seat in.  I just took them both out & never had a problem with it.  It's definitely very convenient for shopping & getting through narrow doorways.

  • I have it and I like it. It is heavy but I can steer it with one hand which is key when you have one crying baby to carry around. I've heard that you need the seats to be forward facing or take them apart to collapse the stroller, which seems annoying.
