Late Term and Child Loss

Should I be here?

I am unsure of what board I should be a part of. My name is Keira and last Monday I went into the ER for what I thought was dehydration. During the ultrasound to make sure the baby was alright, it was determined that my baby's heart had stopped beating. I was 17 weeks pregnant. I had a d & e on Wednesday. I am hoping to hear positive success stories of TTCAL because I'm not ready to not be a momma!

Re: Should I be here?

  • I am so sorry for your loss! No one wants to join this group, and I am so sorry you find yourself here. Many of the moms on here have gone on to have healthy pregnancies and beautiful rainbow babies. Lots of ((hugs)).

  • Thank you... I feel like I'm in between the two boards because my loss was second trimester but I hadn't found out the sex of the baby or felt it move yet. Not that any of that makes it easier...

I am so so sorry for your loss.   You may find more ladies with D&E experiences on the miscarriage board, but this board has been an amazing resource for me and I hope you find the support you need here as well.  <3

  • I made the choice to have the d&e vs delivering because I still had that option. I didn't really know what to do and wanted to move on with the grieving piece.

I absolutely understand- there are so many choices to be made and no real time to think about anything.  Any and all of the choices you made were the best ones for you and your family.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I had a third tri loss but do know some of the women who pop through here have had second tri losses. You are welcome here, but feel free to join whichever board you think is best. A lot of the women on this board (myself included) have gone on to have successful rainbow pregnancies, so I hope you do not feel like a loss means you will never have children. We're here for you whenever you need us.

I am so sorry for your loss.  There are people here with 2nd trimester losses, myself included (22.5 weeks).  You will find a ton of support here on this board, the ladies are wonderful.
  • I'm sorry for your loss. Feel free to join whichever board you find most comfortable. I understand wanting to avoid the grief piece, but it will most likely come. Loosing a baby is not easy, it's hard and ugly. Allow yourself to grieve for this child, it will make it easier in the long run and healthier for you and your rainbow when you do get pregnant. (((huge hugs)))

So very sorry for the loss of your sweet baby. Please post wherever is best for you at the time you need it. I am also one of the number with a rainbow baby after our daughter was stillborn. Please take time to grieve the little one you lost, as your mother instincts tell you to.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our baby at 20 weeks exactly. I did deliver after being induced, but we opted not to find out the sex. I have found this board to be full of strong and supportive women and you are welcome to post here anytime. hugs.

  • I'm sorry for the loss of your baby. I agree with @lexusolsen - you're still a mom even if your little one isn't here with you. That said, I understand wanting to TTC. I don't have any living children, but there are many here who have gone on to have rainbow babies.

We lost our daughter at just over 21 weeks, so mine is a second trimester loss as well. The only reason we know her gender is because we had an amnio done based on abnormal initial testing results. You're welcome to be part of this board and I'm sure the miscarriage board would take you too - whatever feels most comfortable for you. Second trimester can be an "awkward" place to be to find belonging, but these ladies are wonderful.
