Sex = Labor??

Ladies...I'm 39 weeks pregnant and wanted to know if sex helped any of you start labor. This is my second pregnancy and with my first I had to be induced and it wasn't the best experience. My husband was also deployed at the time so couldn't try sex. But this time around he will be here and wanted to know y'alls experience..

    I hear there is something in sperm that softens your cervix and an orgasm will jump start contractions. I personally had no luck and believe me, we tried a lot! By 39 weeks, I was so done being pregnant!

    Yea I read that in a few articles and I prefer personal experiences lol... What else did you try or did you have to get induced? I mean I'm not due till August 11th so I have time but I just rather try things now ya know..

    Nothing worked for me. Long walks (walked 5k+ every day), spicy food, pineapple, sex.... Went to 41w with #1 and 41.5w with #2.

    Some people swear by it; I had no results.

    Sperm has prostaglandins that help with cervical ripening. I had to stop labor 2x with my first due to sex so I ended up on pelvic rest til the end with him. And orgasms trigger contractions so if you're term I'd go for it!

    I highly doubt it really does do anything, but I did have sex often and I would prick a hole in evening primrose oil capsules and put two up my vag before bed every night for maybe a week before I went into labor and I ended up being two weeks early. He was definitely ready to come though, he was 8lb 3oz 21inches and I was carrying low for quite some time

    Dh just reminded me that last pregnancy we had sex, the next day I lost my mucus plug and went into labor that night. I had the baby the following day. I totally forgot we had sex. I wish I was in the mood this time.

    We have been trying it but no luck so far. I think there really isn't much you can do but wait until LO is ready unfortunately :-(

    We were planning on having sex to get things going but then I went I to labor a few hours before it happened, haha.

    I've heard it puts you into labour, but my doctor says it's an old wives tale... Regardless, it's an excuse I'll be using I'm sure when the time comes haha ;)

    I'm not sure if it helped us or not.

    I've also heard midwives swear by nipple stimulation.  But, like, a LOT of nipple stimulation.  Hours.  Using a pump.  You may want to google.  I could see where it would help, as nipple stimulation post-labor encourages contractions to shrink the uterus.

    Do a LOT of research if you are considering this, and talk to your Dr...it can lead to super painful and not very productive contractions.

    I had 3 acupuncture sessions which worked. I was 42 weeks pregnant at the time and didn't want to come in to be induced! Drinking castor oil also worked for me. Good luck!

    I was induced my first one as well, I was scheduled for an induction so the night before we had sex and then I went into labor. So maybe, it never hurts to try.

    Ladies....not gonna lie but sex works! Husband and I had sex last night twice...(sorry tmi) but around 4am started having contractions and now in labor!! Def try it if you haven't!!
