So at 39w2d, cervix is still closed and not experiencing contractions or back pain. After interpreting every little thing as a possible sign of pending labor for the last 2 weeks (and listening to my coworkers and DH's coworkers say "I think today is the day"..,,,for 2 weeks), I am now making peace with the fact that DS is most likely going to arrive by induction next week.
Instead of dwelling on why he is not here yet or on all these insane aches/pains of late pregnancy, DH and I decided that we would celebrate our very last "baby free weekend". Instead of remaining in a 1 mile perimeter of the house waiting for contractions to appear or leaky fluid, we will be heading to the movies (w000t guardians of the galaxy, anyone??) and enjoying a yummy meal (or three) at a non baby/kid friendly restaurant. Of course, however, if DS decides to make an early appearance, we are 100% okay with that too :-)
Did anyone else do or plan to do a last baby free weekend? If so, what was/is on your list??
Edit: bags are packed, to do list is as done as it is going to get and we are getting cabin fever just waiting around the house! and it feels like a watched pot never boiling completely rings true for watched waters never breaking ;-)
Re: Celebrating our last baby free weekend
We have zero plans this weekend but I'm sure we'll figure something out if baby doesn't decide to make an appearance. I'd love to go out to dinner - a fancy steak house or something

~~PAIF/SAIF Always Welcome~~
But good for you! I totally regret not doing something like this before having my first. I also had zero labor signs and was induced and I should have spent less time pouting and more time enjoying being on my own schedule.
Honestly I didn't really think about it until a few days ago. I think having the induction officially scheduled has taken away a lot of uncertainty and given us new perspective. I did not realize how wrapped up we were getting in the most insane little details of baby prep (like child proofing for things that won't even be an issue until he can walk!). I really regret not taking more time like this to spend with DH before our wedding--instead I spent too much time worry about stupid centerpieces and photo wall props.
We have been doing lots of "last" dates for a couple of weeks. We went out to eat last Friday, which we don't usually do, and went to see Guardians of the Galaxy on Tuesday. This weekend our little township has its 150th anniversary so we will be doing some of those events, parade, bingo, etc.
Otherwise I think we are going to be sitting around saying "come out baby!"
