~*~Health & Fitness Check In 8/4~*~ Better late than never ;)

This is a weekly thread posted on Mondays (or Wednesdays if your work decides you need to train a new employee for 2 days!) for those of us who have health and fitness goals we would like to keep during our pregnancies. If you are new, please jump right in and join in the weekly discussion!

1) How far along are you?

2) How did you do this past week? If you didn't reach your goals, what will you do to get back on track?

3) Any goals for this week?

  • I was wondering if I had missed the thread this week. LOL

    1) How far along are you? 18 weeks!

    2) How did you do this past week? If you didn't reach your goals, what will you do to get back on track? Last week I did amazing! I worked out every day and most days I felt awesome. This week is turning out to be a bust because of a UTI.

    3) Any goals for this week? I've abandoned my goals this week. Doctor told me no running until my antibiotics kick in and until I feel no pain in my kidneys.

GTKY: Current fave shoe to work out in? I have two pair of running shoes that I alternate: Nike Vomero Zoom and New Balance 1080. I walk and run on the outsides of my feet so I need a neutral shoe. I also need something with cushion. Took me years to find the right shoes.

  • @TXUltraRunner I am a neutral runner as well. I got fitted for mine and they are very light weight. Normally I love them but I am noticing as the pregnancy progresses, they are starting to lose their appeal and they only have about 100 miles on them. I think I need something with more cushion for the rest of my pregnancy.

I hope you feel better soon too! I've never had a UTI but I am certain they suck :(

  • I agree with @TXUltraRunner I love my Nike Vomero Zoom's
  • 1) How far along are you?
    17+ weeks

    2) How did you do this past week? If you didn't reach your goals, what will you do to get back on track?
Did terribly with eating. Seriously. Every time I turn around there is something in my mouth. I've tried brushing my teeth, chewing gum, putting in a mint, etc. nothing is helping. I need more willpower!

My plan is to start a new day and stop dwelling on this past week. I have also done a decent job with exercise considering H has been OOT for almost 2 weeks and is out of the country this week. So I've had to take C to the Y child care after day care, something I don't like to do.

    3) Any goals for this week?
Work out at least EOD. Eat better. Tomorrow is a new day.

GTKY: Current fave shoe to work out in? Nike LunarGlide. I bought 4 pairs last time I was at Dick's because they were on clearance and I love them!

I made it out on three runs and one of them was my long run (8 miles).3) Any goals for this week? This is my heavy week for work so I only have two days off. My goal is to squeeze in a run tomorrow. Maybe MAYBE one before work one day this weekend.GTKY: Current fave shoe to work out in?So, I bought the new adidas zooms to train for this half marathon. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I'm a neutral to slight overpronating runner and they have been awesome. I have been in Asics for 9 years. I felt like I was having an affair in the running shop when I tried them on. :-P

  • 1) How far along are you? 16 weeks and 6 days

    2) How did you do this past week? If you didn't reach your goals, what will you do to get back on track? This past week... I did my 4-5 mile walk 4 times last week but didn't make it to the gym. Lets not talk about my eating habits...I am not sure what I am doing there... I am personally upset with myself on this.

@muskiefan07... JOIN THE CLUB...I seem to be strong at work but after work when I just want to sit on my couch and my DH doesn't come home for me to make dinner I just crumble and sulkingly get in my car and drive to a drive thru window. Its pathetic like I swear another persona comes out and does all these naughty deeds. Then when I am done I just stare at the wrappers or containers and hate myself.

GAME PLAN: This week I have been walking my Trainer started coming to my house again and I am going to get to the gym at least two more times this week. I am going to eat what I bought to eat from the store if it KILLS ME!

    3) Any goals for this week? Goals 2 more visits to the gym and walk 5-6 miles today and tomorrow at a faster pace. NO DRIVE THRU FOR A WEEK...then I will try and make it longer. My will power is weak..need to build up.

GTKY: Current fave shoe to work out in? I have my Asic Kayanos for the gym (is that how you spell that...pathetic) and I walk in Nike Lunareclipse.
