I had been on the Nuva ring for about year before TTC. I had 7 months of normal 22 day cycles...then they started getting longer and longer. I'm curious if anyone else used the ring and experienced this
I was never on Nuva Ring, but your cycles can change at any time. In the two years I've been TTC, my cycles have ranged from 26-32 days.
A 22 day cycle is on the shorter side, so it might not be a bad thing that they're getting longer. How long have your cycles been since then?
ETA: I just looked back on your intro and saw that your recent cycles have been 35-50 days. My initial thought is that it probably doesn't have anything to do with the BC you were on before, but I'm not a doctor. Hopefully the new doctor (a RE?) you're going to see next month is able to do some testing and give you some answers.
TTC since July 2012 BFP 5/22/13. Lap. to remove ectopic and dx with endo. 6/16/13
RE consult: June 2014
DX: FVL, endo, hypothyroidism, blocked left tube
Oct. 2014: First treatment cycle: Clomid+trigger+IUI=BFN
i had been on BC pills for over a decade when we started TTC. my cycle was 35 days like clockwork the first 6 months i was off the pill then they jumped to 50+ days...that was when we decided to see a specialist. i have no idea why i was regular at first, but it didn't seem that unusual to the doctor.
Me: 31 (PCOS) possible right tube issues DH: 36 (SA normal)
Started dating in 2006, Married 2012
TTC since November 2013
First RE visit due to irregular periods: June 2014
Lap/Hysto to remove polyps, cyst and tube blockage 11/6
Cycle 1 (Dec. 2014) TI with Clomid, Trigger, & Progesterone CX due to no response
Impatiently Waiting CD1 to try again with Fermara Back on the bench due to giant cyst,
who know I'd ovulate on my own after a cancelled cycle and end up with a mega cyst
I'm not sure this is helpful, but I guess you are looking for information on both sides.
I was on Nuva Ring for a little over a year in 2006/7-2008. I went off birth control when DH and I got married in 2008. My cycles were regular before birth control (pre-2003), and they have been regular after birth control for the last 6 years (28-34 days, avg 31).
I know that some of my friends have experienced irregular periods after getting off birth control, though (not necessary Nuva Ring). I hope your RE will help you fugue out what's going on! Good luck!
