My baby will be 5 months on the 7th and for the past couple night she has been rolling over in her sleep and to her stomach. When is it ok for them to sleep on their tummies?
Eli rolls to his tummy every night. At first I tried to rol him back but he just rolled back. I figure if he can roll onto his tummy he can roll off. It still causes a little anxiety sometimes.
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
Will has slept on his stomach for a couple of months now. He is delayed and had very little neck control when he first started and even then the doctors weren't worried.
Do we have the same child? Haha. Mine will also be 5 months on the 7th and she has started rolling to her tummy the last couple of nights. I have been checking on her more frequently as it creates a little anxiety for me since she's been a back sleeper up until now, but she has been just fine and looks super comfortable. It's just something we have to deal with as they become more mobile.
DD started rolling on her stomach at night almost a month ago. She'll be 5 months on the 8th. The first few times I noticed I rolled her back but she just rolls back over. When they can roll around you can't control it.
yup. if not for the ladies on here I'd be super nervous since my lo has started side-sleeping, but all their lo's are ok and I'm sure ours will be too! relax mama. check on him more frequently if that puts your mind at ease
Thank you all! After reading some of your responses I was relived and got some sleep. I'm a FTM so everything is exciting but nerve racking at time. Time is just flying by :-S
This morning DH went into check on Fi as she was making some noise and found her on her tummy with her foot stuck between two of the crib pilasters. He rolled her over an she went back to sleep. But when he told me I was a little freaked out like you @mari3607 ! She did it again tonight while putting her to sleep. Guess it's our new reality, but nerve wracking none the less. Thanks all!
DS1 started rolling on his side to sleep pretty early (? 2 months ?). Then onto his belly around 4-5 months. He still mostly sleeps on his tummy at 20 months.
LO hasn't really even started to roll to his side yet to sleep. I guess he likes his back well enough or he'd roll over I'm sure.
I've got an audio monitor and I just listen closely to movement for the first few days to know that they are okay when they first start sleeping on their bellies. I've got no worries really.
Mine has started rolling to her tummy to sleep and I hate it! She still can't roll from tummy to back so it really worries me. Little weirdo!
So far when she rolls over she either sleeps amazingly for hours or wakes up immediately and oh so angry because she is stuck. I am hoping that this leads to better sleep as she gets better at rolling!
