Sex Logistics

So, I'm just wondering a few things:

1. When do you find the TIME? My husband gets home, we do dinner and he plays with Lincoln then bathes him. By the time Peaches goes to bed DH has long since passed out because she's decided her bedtime is F!@#$%^ midnight! We're lucky to get to watch one of our shows bc the baby is WIDE awake or nursing for eons.

2. Where does baby hang while you do your thang? We used to be bathroom people but that's not feasible with our new layout.

I was cleared last week but it has not happened yet. (In fairness part of that is due to the stoopid after-effects of the Mirena, but I digress...)

    Baby goes into his crib in his room every night, so place isn't an issue. C is in bed by 8 and charlie is generally down between 9 and 10. Our biggest issue is my own exhaustion . we've done it once since I was cleared two weeks ago.

    @LilyGrace48 I bow down to your mothering. Wish my kids were on such a good routine already! Jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been keeping Peaches in our room but she is a grunter so her pedi is wanting me to move her to her room so I can get some rest. Except, she STILL doesn't have a nursery yet.

    Well DH and I aren't back to work yet so we've been DTD during nap time. Last night LO was awake from 2:30 to 5:30 just chilling and grunting in her PNP which is in our room. Around 4:00 DH and I decided to get busy, she was wide awake in her bed about six feet from us. Happy spouses make happy parents :-)

    All I have to say on this topic is....ugh that was frusterating. There was a crying baby, a dog that jumped on the bed, condoms are the worst, the whole thing was frusterating. I have no advice, I just hope that no one has as "fun" as I had.

    @MrsCase1‌ I was blessed with a first baby who loved to sleep and responded really well to a bedtime routine. I am finding that getting Charlie on one is more difficult because of juggling two kids. I'm hoping as his reflux evens out and he calms down, he'll be easier to deal with and I can get them matching.

    Oh hell if I know. We've done it once since I was cleared a month ago and it wasn't super awesome haha. It was a random middle of the night sexytime.

    Since then I've tried to figure out logistics too. I think we're going to be moving babies into their own rooms here soon so maybe that will help. Hard to think about sex when they're so damn noisy.

    I was cleared and has planned to DTD with DH when we went away and had a hotel room last night ....and then I got my period. Yay.

    Exhaustion at the end of the day has always been an issue for us, so we've gone back to early mornings between the 4am feeding and DH's 5am alarm for work. ;)

    We've found that the logistics are harder for us now that we have two kids.  Keeping DS's bedtime at a reasonable hour seems to depend on him not taking a nap (hes 3 years).  If he naps he's up until 10PM, guaranteed.

    As far as DD goes, she sleeps next to our bed in a cosleeper.  We try to stay quiet, but honestly, she's a newborn.  If she were to wake up, she'd have no idea what was going on.  We do try to make sure that she's fast asleep before we DTD, though, more for our benefit than hers

    My in laws like to take both my girls for one evening a week. I was hesitant with the newbie but then the hubs and I discovered we could do the dirty for two hours if we let them take the baby and the toddler. So, we have sex about once a week. Every once in a while we can get our freak on after both kids are in bed but hubby is usually out cold before the baby is asleep. The hardest part is boobs are off limits. ANYTHING causes a letdown including orgasms sometimes. Super distracting.


    My advice for all moms: there is no shame in getting a babysitter so you can get your bow chicka wow wow on.

    Once when he was downstairs in his swing napping, we snuck up to our room. And once we came home and DTD while LO was at MILs while we went our for dinner and DH went and picked him up afterwards.
