unsure of what to do

I haven't felt LO move since yesterday. The problem is we are on vacation. Everytime this happened with DD and I went to the dr's office they found her HB with the Doppler in no time. Our ER copay is ridiculous but I don't know if I have another option since I'm on vacation. Any ideas besides the ER?

Maybe try drinking a glass of ice water? I don't know if that really works but I've seen some people have positive results. Hope everything is okay!

You're still only 24 weeks so I don't think it's a huge issue yet. Have you tried eating sugary and cold things? If your gut is telling you to go in, do it. Your mommy instincts far out weigh the 'norm' for advice which is all I've done.

I would drink or eat something and lay on your side for a bit. Something I've noticed is when I'm around music like in the car she starts to move around a lot from the noise I think. Maybe you could try that? Good luck! I hope something works and you don't have to interrupt your vacation!

Or, what I do sometimes if I just want to check in with baby, is lay on my stomach. Not all the way anymore, it protrudes too much, but kind of on my side tilted onto my belly - she usually gets irritated pretty fast and starts kicking me to move.

I'll be 27 weeks in a couple of days and I very rarely feel LO. The only times I do is when I drink a big glass of cold OJ or at night when I lay in a quiet room, flat on my back, touch my stomach and am very still. Good luck!!

I second (or third? Fourth?) the lying on your side. When I haven't felt baby move in awhile and get worried I lay down on my side and usually will feel baby start to wiggle around. I'm sure you are fine and baby is just sleeping/resting but if you are worried definitely call your OB. Your mommy instinct is paramount.

At my appointment today I asked the doctor when I should start worrying about movement. She said at 28 weeks you should be able to feel the baby have an active time once per day. I am 26 weeks and some days I feel him like crazy and others I barely feel him. At 24 weeks I actually had a few days in a row where I didn't feel any movement and I was quite concerne, but all is well. Try not to be too concerned and maybe try some of the "tricks" to get LO to move- but if they don't work (they never work for me!) don't panic.

I had an issue very similar at 24 weeks but it went on for a couple of days. I think it is common to stop feeling the baby for a couple of days.. I think during that time mine went thru a growth spurt cause I got a bit bigger when I started to feel her again. I hope all is ok and you are not feeling her because you are enjoying your vacation while she is moving.

I also had a same experience at 24 weeks. I went about 24 hours or more without feeling him. I was silently panicking and googling things and told myself it's still early and lo and behold the next day he was wiggling and kicking again. Now at almost 28 weeks he moves all the time!

I totally understand the fear, but I agree with the pp's, try something sugary and lay on your side for a little while. Follow your gut though! Hugs!

I agree with PP-try something cold/sugary, and then lay down for a little while. For me, laying on my back and switching to my left side usually helps. A few weeks ago, my parents dog jumped on my stomach really hard and then I didn't feel LO move for the next day. I finally went for a swim in the super cold lake and then laid out in the sun. She finally started moving while I was laying out. I hope your LO starts jumping around soon so your mind can be put at ease and you can enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Given that you are only 24 weeks along, I don't think this is a big deal. Sometimes baby is more active than other times.

I think PPs gave some great advice on things you can do to try to get LO to get moving. Please do not go to the ER over not feeling the baby move for a day. The ER should be for emergencies only and by going for a non-emergency you are creating a longer wait for those who truly need to be there.

I tried a caffiene free coke and candy bar and still didn't feel anything. Called my ob's office and nurse said to drink juice and lie flat on my back (which I am currently doing) in a room with no distractions. I should feel 3 movements in 30 min and/or 5-6 in an hour. She said I'm right on the line between feeling some movement and feeling lots. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement. You ladies are great!

It's hard to say what you should do. I second all the advice above. For the last week and a bit I have felt my LO move several times a day - sometimes every couple hours even - and I think if she stopped I would be concerned. I know they say that until 28 weeks it's not concerning but if its out of the norm for you then trust your gut.

I had the same problem at 23/24 weeks where baby significantly slowed in movement for several days and it freaked me out. I agree with PP suggestions. Hope you feel your LO soon!

@MmmPopcorn‌ I typed rhis right after speaking with my OB nurse again and apparently forgot to hit post.

So apparently candy sugar doesn't do it for this LO but give it some Cranapple juice and I get 4 movements in 30 minutes. OB nurse called back to double check on movement and was satisfied with the amount of movements I had. Thanks for all the advice and understanding ladies. I don't think I would have been so worried if I wasn't 2 states away from home and therefore unable to run to the OB office for the doppler if needed. This LO is usually a mover and shaker so 24 hours without movement just felt like a long time. Thanks again!
