Maternity Jeans Sizing ?

I made my first maternity clothing purchase today at target. (I bought a pair of jeggings for 50% off.). I ended getting the XS, because the S was to baggy in the legs and the crotch area. (I hate jeans that sag) The XS actually fit good now. The tag did say ideal for early pregnancy since the band was the below the belly. I am hoping they still fit in the fall when I will be wearing long pants more. My question is will my legs get bigger, because they are fitted in the leg area. Should I have gotten the small since I want to use them more in the fall. They do seem like they are stretchy.

I watched a blog on a twin mama and she got a size bigger than normal. I think the band part may be the most annoying. I wouldn't think your leg part would change much. I know for me I'm already getting annoyed with the low waist bands on my capris. I think I'm going full belly panel for jeans in the fall.

My legs did not get bigger - I was able to wear the same maternity pants throughout. Additionally, if you like the below-the-belly bands, you may be able to wear them through your whole pregnancy. I preferred those, rather than the over-the-belly panel pants so I wore those the whole time I was in maternity clothes with DS and plan to do the same thing this time.

My thighs and hips got a little bigger towards the end but you'll be good through fall.

My legs stayed pretty much the same size throughout - only my belly grew. Well, until the last month or so, when EVERYTHING seemed to swell. But you should be fine with those for quite a while.

My legs didnt get bigger. I pretty much carried everything in the belly. My feet went up a 1/2 size tho

My legs didn't get any bigger I don't think. I do prefer the full panel, even early on because I tend to carry low.

I think it's hard to know because everyone's bodies are different and every pregnancy can be different. I tend to get bigger all around when pregnant....this is my 4th pregnancy and will be 3rd child.

I bought my maternity jeans based on my normal jean size and they fit for 90% of my pregnancy. The last month, my thighs and calves blimped out and it was difficult to get them on, so I switched over to my pre-pregnancy, non maternity regular ol' yoga pants. Worked well. If you aren't tight on money, buy your jeans to fit you now because your legs may not grow at all. I had a couple of ill fitting hand me down maternity pants and I never wore them because they made me look stupid.

Everyone is different, though and YMMV

ETA: oh, and full panel FTW. you won't regret it especially in the winter time. I liked the below the belly ones, but towards the end, it was waaaaay too much pressure on my bladder so I gave up on them. But they were great for post-partum. I guess get a mix of both.

I hate the below the belly ones. The full panel is so much more comfortable. That being said I bought a pair of below belly pants from Target in a small. They are big and baggy and really wish I would have bought the x-small. But I have already worn them a few times, just used a tight shirt to help them stay up. Last time I don't remember my legs getting bigger at all. Just my belly.

Ahhh Maternity clothing shopping is addicting! I just bought 2 cute chevron maxi skirts at Old Navy.com. (figured I can wear them now if I want and in the fall too) Got them for 9 dollars each. They had jeans I like, but I have to wait until I can go and try them on in the store. I hate Jean shopping, so hard for me.

@cls78 I'm having the hardest time! I looked at target, but didn't see any skinny type jeans. Have you seen any of those anywhere?

Edit to add: I looked at Target and didn't see the leggings you mentioned

@MissEm15 oldnavy.com has skinny jeans and jeggings. I am going to check the Old Navy stores soon, so I can try them on. Also Motherhood had skinny jeans. I am going back there in the fall to trying them on. I tried a pair of size 2 bootcut maternity jeans at target and they were swimming on me. Glad I was able to at least score some jeggings that fit pretty good. They had jeggings on sale and ones that were not at my Target, but no skinny jeans.

@missem15 Just made a order at ON, but got a couple of maxi skirts. ON jeans sometimes do not fit me well in the length, so I am going to wait to try them on in stores. I found skinny jeans at H and M w/ free shipping, but they don't do exchanges in the store. Going to be making a trip to H and M soon too.
