Military Moms?

My DH left for Basic yesterday. I'm feeling a little lonely. How have you other military mom's filled your time and stayed positive? I love being home with LO, but I am afraid I'll start to get frustrated or tired with no help, and I don't want that to hurt my relationship with DH or LO. Any advice would be great!

  • Just want to let you know I (kinda) get it. I was with my hubs when he went to bootcamp and 5 years of service. all pre-baby...

find a routine! once you get into the swing of daily life it gets so much easier. When you see your sanity limit approaching, try to plan something new. for me it was as simple as going to the library or movie or a park. always try to find the positive in the day. one day at a time.

  • Is there a USO in your area? They always have tons of events and activities for spouses and families.

Hang in there! I'm sure it can't be easy. Appreciate his service and your sacrifice.

  • never been without dh with the baby, but we are headed for recruiting and i expect that i will be alone a lot of the time. i plan on getting into a solid routine as well as branching out in the community and finding other moms. its gonna be tough. the good news is, theres usually a honeymoon period at the end of a deployment/time away and it can be very good for your relationship to have time apart. just focus on getting through it one day at a time. count each day as a win!!
