I'd prefer the beach, but it's far from us and costs way more. We live in CO so mountain vacations are easy. We're actually renting a house in a small mountain town next week.
I love the beach and would probably be my first choice for a vacation, but I sure do love going to my grandparents cabin in the mountains of Montana. It's so incredibly peaceful and beautiful.

Would love a cool mountain vacation right now. I'm not big into hot weather so the beach isn't too exciting for me. I mean, if I'm offered a beach chair and a fruity drink with an umbrella, I'll totally grab my swimsuit. I'd just prefer boots and a chunky sweater.
I just love vacation. I'd probably pick beach though. However, my husband is more of a mountain type. We went on a great vacation to Glacier National Park. For our honeymoon in Belize, we did 1/2 mountains and 1/2 beach and it was fantastic.

As if you can't tell from my avatar, I'm a beach girl. I love the sand, the salt air, and the sound of the waves... I'm sure the mountains are beautiful and peaceful and lovely, but if I had to choose, I would always pick the beach.
I vote beach because I don't get there nearly as often as we go up to the mountains I realized that my CA trip a few weeks ago was the first time I had actually been on a beach in 18 months--it had been too long! Our next (mini) vacay is mountains/lake though (Lake Tahoe). Can't wait--two weeks! We may actually get the chance to go to BELIZE for DH's best friend's wedding next March...need to start figuring out child care for the boys now...
I hate being hot. I dont like to get all sandy and my crazy fair skin laughs in the face of all sunblocks and sunscreens unless applied liberally every ten minutes. I'm with goodpotato tho that I like a nice lakefront int he mountains.
We are on our way home from our vacation in the White Mountains of NH. I love this area . We went to story land, santa's village, and this really nice lake with a sandy beach. We had so much fun. This area has great skiing in the winter. There are also lots of hiking trails and waterfalls to see when our kids get older.
