Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Night time diaper leaking help (boy)

My son sleeps through the night so we don't change him until we get him up in the mornings around 7am. He has been getting his pj's and crib sheet wet almost every night. We have even went up a size (2) for bedtime and it still hasn't helped any.
He is currently in size 1 during the day, not sure if we should try a size 3 for bedtime.

Anyone have any luck with stopping the leaking at night?
Any suggestions?
TIA

Re: Night time diaper leaking help (boy)

  • Changing his diaper size did the trick for both my sons when that happened. My nearly 5 months old is now in a size 3. Good luck!

  • Going up a size didn't work for us. We had to switch brands. CVS, Huggies natural, and Luvs worked for us, I also have a baby boy. Pampers kept leaking.
  • I would buy an overnights brand. I had the same issue, it was driving me crazy.
Pregnant with #3, after thee, three's complete!!
  • Oh that's a good point. If it helps any Target brand works for us (and they're so inexpensive compared to others). Good luck!

  • well I tried a size three last night. It was pretty full in the morning but I don't think it got on his pj's....(I kept smelling pee so not sure if it was from the diaper or it got on his clothes)
My sister actually used the target brand also, I will have to try those out, currently I have pampers swaddlers.

    Thanks ladies for the help

  • We had that problem too.  I bought Pampers baby dry (which is for night) and so far they've worked great.

  • Dry a different brand or type of diaper.  We found Pampers were leaky on DS, so we switched to Huggies.  We use "Little Movers" during the day and "Snug and Dry" at night.  He's been in size 3 since about 2 months old.   He was in size 2s for a VERY short time (like maybe 2-3 weeks?).

  • I have girls, but DD1 started leaking out of her diaper when she was around 4 months old. We use Pampers Cruisers during the day, but went up a size with Huggies Overnight diapers at bedtime. Love them! Definitely prefer Huggies Overnights to Pampers Overmights.

  • I use the Huggies overnight diapers in a size bigger than DS is in during the day. The diaper fills up pretty good, but no leaking :)

  • Thanks ladies. I bought some pampers baby dry size 3 and so far they are working.
I think we will have to move him to size 2 during the day soon. My twins are finally starting to really gain some weight and size to them. :)

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

  • I second pampers baby dry! We started with DD1 young and at 2 years old she is still in them for nighttime!  Once DD2 starts leaking during the night Ill switch her over too.

  • Pampers baby dry works great for DS.  We tried the Target brand a few nights and he was up every 3 hours, so we switched back and he's sleeping 9 hours through again.

We make sure to pull the ruffles out, and tuck in his "lil man" so it points down.  We have not had one leak with any brand diaper we've tried (pampers, huggies, target).
  • We have been using pampers baby dry for a while now and they are GREAT....thank you ladies.
    Works like a charm :)
