HELP! My 7mo. old daughter only prefers her mommy!

I'm at a loss. My little daughter will only allow her mommy to comfort her. She will let me hold her, and as soon as mommy steps out of the room for anything, she freaks out and is totally inconsolable. I try everything my wife normally does besides feeding her. She just will not calm down when mom isnt in the room. I know my daughter loves me and I love her beyond words, but PLEASE HELP! any advice?

    I wish I had more advice . . . our son went through the same thing.  It was a phase, although a pretty rough one to get through.  (We called him our purple baby because no matter what you tried, he just screamed and screamed until his face was such a dark red...)  How long has this been going on?  A lot of babies have their "witching hour" which is more than an hour, but does pass in time.

    Our go-to was always re-direction or distraction.  For us, trying to to get his attention on something else (many times just moving to a different room with him) helped at least take it down from an 8 to a 5 . . . and at times solved the problem altogether.
