Padsicles

I'm making some postpartum padsicles. Last time I had a vaginal birth and the crotch was a disaster zone. I would have loved to have these then. Just wondering ...is there soreness with a csection too? I don't want to make them if I won't need them and can just use regular pads.

Re: Padsicles

  • I actually used a heating pad on my c-section incision.  That is what helped me.

  • My planned c-section was a super easy recovery, like we went to the zoo at 9 days old easy. I had more pain and soreness from my IV than my c section.

My first c section was a disaster it was an emergency c under general and it was a much harder recovery.

Personally I found that compression was the most important thing for controlling my pain. I was given a surgical binder after each baby and it really helped with the incision pain, tingling, and unstable core.

  • I used a belly binder-- it kept everything tight for moving around, getting in and out of bed, sneezing, coughing, and even laughing.

I had a girl friend who made pads for after vaginal birth and used witches hazel on them and stuck them in the freezer. Not sure if that would benefit if you are having a c-section.
