No ultra sounds prior to today. But last month I asked my doc if she heard 2 heartbeats (jokingly) because I was feeling HUGE for how far along I was. Little did I know but thank you! Doctor put me on a weight restriction, which kinda sucked because I hand transfer elderly people everyday as my job. So my work today basically told me Im useless and on permanent, no pay, FML. Cant go back to work even if I wanted to. So swallowing that has been hard for my husband and I today. Going from 2 incomes to 1. When our family of 3 is growing into a family of 5.
@taykins124 I can imagine that to be very hard!! Our incomes have also decreased due to bed-rest for me. All I can advice on that is, try to not dwell on it. In the end things always work out! ;;)
@mrsrroberson Exactly! 2 years from now I will look back on this and it will be a distant memory of the struggle. We are just happy we have two healthy growing boys! My 4yo son wanted a "wittle sister" but he's getting 2 awesome brothers instead
Wow! Congratulations! So sorry you aren't able to work anymore, but it will all feel worth it when you have 20 little toes and 20 little fingers to kiss in a few months!
Congrats! What a wonderful surprise! Sorry to hear you can no longer work. Everything will work out in the end and you'll have two more cute little guys to cuddle
Wow what a shock! Praying it all works out money wise, I'm sure that is a lot to take in. I'm having identical twin girls. I'm almost 20 weeks and found out at my first u/s around 9 weeks that I was having twins. My husband and I both said 'what?!?!' It's so overwhelming but extremely exciting too! I would highly recommend reading the book 'when you're expecting twins, triplets or quads' by dr Barbara Luke. Great info about weight gain, nutrition, birth, etc. I would imagine since you're just finding out now you probably haven't been taking large doses of things like iron, calcium. Might want to ask the dr if they haven't already said something. My dr has me take prenatals, iron, vit d, calcium and folic acid. Good luck!
Congrats! I'm having twin boys as well. We found out about the twins at 8wks. I will be going off work in about 5 weeks (sooner if anything happens) but fortunately I have disability leave. I'm sorry you have to deal with losing an income.

Wow - what a great surprise! Congratulations! I am a twin, and my mom didn't find out until very late in her pregnancy. They had her on a carnation diet one day (because she was gaining too much based on 1 baby) then on bed rest the next when they discovered 2. I don't have any experience being a mom of twins, but know as a twin how special that bond is! What a blessing to have two little bundles of joy coming into your life! I'm sorry to hear about your job, but it will all work out! Maybe you could find something part time that is easy on you to subsidize some of the lost income?
