Bartholin cyst, anyone?

Has anyone experienced this while pregnant?

Re: Bartholin cyst, anyone?

  • I've never had one while pregnant but I did have one a couple years ago and it was infected.  It hurt to sit down and even move.  I did not go to the doctor cause I was young and embarrassed but I found a home remedy online that said it would bring the cyst to a head and pop.  Of course I was off for four days while this happened and it decided to burst as soon as I stood up out of my car to walk into work.  The cyst was probably the size of a grape and had a lot of fluid inside and smelled horrible.  I'm not really sure where I am going with this but hopefully you're not in pain.  The remedy had something like tea tree oil or witch hazel and calamine lotion.  Hope it goes away soon!!

  • I have had several since 2011 but they usually just popped on their own and I was fine. This recent one I had to go to the doctor to get it drained. They put a cathiter in but it fell out Saturday. I have already called my doctor and waiting for a call back but it's just so annoying cause I want it gone and I'm hoping someone has a home remedy. I have heard mix reviews about the one you mentioned so kinda hesitant to try.
  • I've never had one personally, but have drained several. (FFMC- I love stuff like that)

I hope you get some relief soon! If not, I'll break out the sterile needles and surgical gloves ;)

  • I'm experiencing this currently, I frequently get them and was hoping I wouldn't get one while pregnant, but with my luck of course one popped up. Mine are usually huge and very painful, although this one just started so it's not bad yet, but I'm not looking forward to watching it grow over the next few days, I've tried so many times to get rid of them on my own. Unfortunately, I have had to have them surgically drained more times than I'd like to admit to, and have had then so bad that a catheter and round the clock pain killers were mandatory. Since this post is from June I'm wondering if you ever did find an at home remedy that worked? I can't stomach the thought of my little lady being cut open yet again..
