PSA: Breast Pump via Cigna/Carecentrix

I have noticed a ton of posts recently about people wondering about ordering breastpumps. I just ordered mine through carecentrix and it was super easy, even though I don't have a dr to write the Rx. They are just faxing a request to my MW.

The whole process took about 8 min including navigating through the automated system. I didn't even have all the info I need (insurance id number)but they were able to look it up. I was really stressed about this so I had been putting it off, but it was really easy!

So for everyone who has been stressing about this (at least with Cigna) it's super easy and there is nothing to stress about. Just call =)
My pump will be here in 10 days.
Here is the number to Carecentrix:(888) 375-6436

  • Yep. Did this last week. Took about 5 min. Just need to fax over my script. Should receive it any day now.

  • Thank you for posting this! I have been dreading calling in case it was a big ordeal. Is it a rental pump that you send back when you are finished with it or is it a single user pump that you keep?

Nope, you keep it because it's considered a hygene item.
  • I had a positive experience as well a few weeks ago. I literally got my pump in the mail 3 days after my OB faxed in the script.
  • Does anyone know what brands and models Care Centrix will provide you with?  I saw one board where they don't give you an option of brand/model that they send you whatever they have in stock, and my OB said typically they send Medela.
  • They asked me if I wanted Medela or Ameda.
