Re: Breastfeeding check in
Pretty good!
How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night?
11 weeks tomorrow.
He's still at 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
He sleeps 8 hours a night
Great!
How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night?
12 weeks today. Usually three or so hours between feedings, with a shorter stretch of two hours once in the evening most nights. Night varies, but usually 6-8 hours!
EBF, EP, supplementing? EBF
What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find ?
None
Raves and rants?
Just glad it's finally going so well after struggling with latch issues and soreness for the first two months.
Have you tried nursing in public yet, where have you fed LO? Yes, zoo and Barnes and Noble.
How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night? He will be 11 weeks tomorrow. He tends to eat a little all day, so no real time in between feedings. The daycare is trying to get him on more of a schedule. The longest is 6 hours. He goes to bed at 8 (I couldn't keep him up later if I wanted to!) and wakes up around 2. Then it's kind of a crapshoot of what time he will wake up after that. This morning he went until 5:15! Yay!
EBF, EP, supplementing? Breastfeeding at home and pumping at work
What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find ? Nothing this week
Raves and rants? I just hate pumping and wish I could just have him here to feed him. So much easier!
Have you tried nursing in public yet, where have you fed LO? Only in the car.
Anything else you want to share? I don't think so
How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night? 9weeks, I think, I lost track oops! 1.5-3 hours during the day. 4 hours for her long stretch at night then every 2 hours like clockwork.
EBF, EP, supplementing? EBF
What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find ? I wish DD wasn't stuck on me 24/7 but when DH comes home from work is her fussy time and she just wants mom. I need to find time to pump so DH can give a bottle but with 2U2 it's impossible. br>
Raves and rants?
Have you tried nursing in public yet, where have you fed LO? Not this week, but all over town previously.
Anything else you want to share? I'm glad people are starting to see the ends of their BFing issues, way to go everyone!
Still going pretty well.
How old is LO? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night?
LO is 8 weeks, eating every 3-4 hours during the day and then 8-10 hours during the night.
EBF, EP, supplementing? EPing
What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find?
I'm having trouble pumping every 4-5 hours, we've just been so busy. I only pumped 4x yesterday and got 43 oz, whereas the day prior I pumped 6x and got 35 oz.
Raves and rants? Pretty excited we made it to the 2 month mark and pumping is still working out, but I'm tired of being attached to my pump and having to plan things around pumping time.
Pretty good actually. Much more of a schedule. It's enjoyable and I look.forward to sitting down with him now.
How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night?
He's about 3 consistently now. Some 4s. I hit a 5 one night. That Was nice.
EBF, EP, supplementing?
Still ebf. With a little stash pump in there.
What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find ?
More now figuring out I'm chewing on my hands hungry vs I'm chewing on my hands because I found them.
Raves and rants?
None really. I have minimal pain now so that's good. If he hang's on too long I get some.
Have you tried nursing in public yet, where
have you fed LO?
I do. I still get shy whipping it out. I do it a lot in the car.
Anything else you want to share?
Great! We have been very lucky with very little issues
How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night?
10 weeks. 2 hours during the day and usually 6 at night. One night we had 8 1/2 hours. It was glorious.
EBF, EP, supplementing? EBF. Getting nervous about going back to work and pumping. I'm a nurse on a very busy unit and I'm concerned I won't pump enough and my supply will suffer
What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find ?
Nothing really
Raves and rants?
Hoping I can ditch the shield eventually
Have you tried nursing in public yet, where have you fed LO?
Ya I feed everywhere with my cover. The only place I take a bottle is to a restaurant. For some reason I feel uncomfortable in restaurants unless I'm in a booth where no one can see behind me.
Anything else you want to share?
Nothing really. Glad to see everyone is having an easier time.
Going well. He's on the breast a lot, like a growth spurt , but mostly just comfort sucking. The wonder weeks app said it's time for this.
How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night?
8 weeks. Anywhere from 1-4 hours during the day. Usually no longer than 3 hours overnight
EBF, EP, supplementing?
EBF, with pumping to build stash and doing practice bottles every other day.
What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find ?
I still sometimes doubt he's hungry when he starts to fuss and we'll waste time trying other things before offering the breast, only to finally do so and watch him gulp it down.
Raves and rants?
Rave - he's going through another cuddly stage where he'll let me snuggle a bit after nursing/ burping.
Rant - he often jerks his head back while still latched on. Ouch! He doesn't give any warning so I'm not sure how to discourage that.
Have you tried nursing in public yet, where have you fed LO?
I'll feed him most anywhere.

Really well How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest you get to sleep at night?
He is 9w 4d, goes about 2 hours during the day with a 3 hour stretch on the, afternoon, at night he is giving me 8 hours at night consistently! EBF, EP, supplementing?
EBF, will be pumping at work What challenges have you had this week, what solutions did you find ?
Started back at my p/t job so first week straring pump breaks at work. No real issues but I overslept one day and didn't leave myself enough time to pump before I left so I had to wait until I could get a break in and I was pretty uncomfortable by then, definitely need to avoid that again Raves and rants?
Nothing else this week Have you tried nursing in public yet, where have you fed LO?
I've done it several times. Most recently was a baseball game, when we got there I wished I had brought a bottle because I felt really exposed, but it actually went ok. Anything else you want to share?

EBF; trying to pump a bit for a stash and for bottle practice before daycare starts.
BFing is going OK. No major problems like those many of yyou have had to overcome so I'm grateful for that although I can't say it feels like it's going great. Still some pain mostly inside breast after which I think is at least partly Raynauds - not enough now to want meds for but I'm scared for when winter comes. But maybe it isnt that.
She feeds every 30 minutes (or less) to 2 hours during the day -sometimes maybe a little longer between if we are out doing stuff but very rarely. This whole afternoon has been a feeding marathon minus a nap just long enough that I could squeeze in a little pumping. At night I usually get 3-4 hours to sleep for the first stretch then one or usually two (if shorter) 1-3 hour chunks.
Rant/Rave: (it's both) she has already started trying to talk with her mouth full! she'll be on the boob, look up at me, smile, and start babbling - without coming off the boob! It's super-cute but not very efficient.
Challenges :
Like @QOTR she will sometimes pull back hard on the nipple. What is that about? Has for a few weeks now. Sometimes burping her helps stop that but sometimes there is no burp. Often I wonder if I'm out of milk or it's coming too slowly but how to tell? I'll switch sides but that often doesn't help.
Also agree with you about having more trouble seeing hungry cues now. I still usually try offering boob first with fussiness (and dh thinks that is always the only thing she wants) but then I wonder if that's bad - snacking instead of distinct meals or setting up for some other problem/bad habit.??? Plus all the info says try to feed before crying starts but she weegoes from happy-acting to crying with no in-between most of the time and no earlier hunger cues I could see.
Also like @Lica001 said too - she is *always* attached to me in some way so trying to pump for stash/practice has been really hard. Though I don't have 2u2 as an excuse. I finally squeezed in time to use my new PISA today but she had just been feeding for a long time so I only got 1.5 oz.
Nursing in public? All the time lots of different places mostly outdoors but also including restaurants which I had earlier felt weirder about and including in front of my rather conservative aunt and unclr who were just visiting. - they seemed OK with it. I don't use a real cover - wear a loose-ish tshirt over a nursing cami and pull the tshirt back down to cover. I hate nursing in the car - too cramped and I'm always afraid she'll hit her head or hurt a toe ifwhen she squirms.
@danagmauro how are you ruining shirts -stretching or stains? I haven't noticed leakage leaving stains but maybe it depends on the fabric?
