My DS started stuttering overnight about 3 weeks ago. At the beginning it was just who, what, where, when, why, but it now seems to be worse and he has also resorted to whispering and putting his hand in front of his mouth. I called the pediatrician and brought him in and he said it is developmental and will go away. May take a month, a year, but it is getting worse and my poor, once very confident little boy is changing right before my eyes.
Has this happened to anyone else with a great outcome? Anyone have any other suggestions where to turn? Thanks in advance.
Re: Sudden 3 year-old stuttering
The peds advice when it started was to ignore it. Don't help them find the word. Just be patient.
