We got our vaccines today...

And besides some rough crying when we got them and again a few hours later, I've just had a sleepy, somewhat fussy baby. She's felt a little warm at times but not hot enough to be worried about taking her temperature. I was really nervous about all the scary stuff that rarely happens and was ok since she's been doing fine but now it's time to go to bed and I'm nervous again! I'm scared something will happen while we're sleeping. I know it probably sounds silly. She got her shots around 10 this morning, if something bad (like a seizure) were going to happen, would it have happened by now? TIA

  • I don't recognize your screenname but my memory is terrible. If this is MUD, nobody laugh at me! LOL!

If this is not MUD, then I would say, ya just cant live your life like that. You made the best decision for your family, so own it. Try to get a good night's rest and if you're so inclined, pray over your baby before bed for peace.

  • Uh...definitely not MUD, I've posted a few times on here but mostly just read things. I'm not sure what about it seemed made up, I'm just a worried FTM! I made my decision knowing the risks and I do own that, just wondering from other people's experiences when I can no longer be concerned about possible reactions. Thanks for your advice though.
  • I would call your doctor - this would have been a good question to ask while you were there, but since you aren't any longer, call your doctor.  Trust your medical professional.

  • Your doctor didn't give you any info about the vaccines, common reactions, and when to call in? Might be time for a new doctor.

  • You're right, I am a stresser. The doctor mentioned possible side effects (seizure being a more severe reaction but highly uncommon, extended crying like 3+hours being the most common 'Bad' reaction and to call if this happened) I looked over the papers and they said severe allergic reactions happen within a few minutes or hours, I believe dtap said seizures or fevers were possible for up to a week. I don't love our doctor but we are moving out of state in the next month or two and didn't want to find a new doctor for one appointment. I guess I should have just called. I'm sorry that my past threads have been silly, just a FTM and this has always been a good place for support when I have a question. Thanks everyone for your responses. Everything was just fine and DD is back to her normal happy self today
  • Don't know why that posted under a different name. The app kicked me out and when I logged back in it made a different account. That certainly doesn't help me not look like it's fake. Oh well!
  • Ya it was, I'm not sure what happened. I must have made a different account a long time ago and put in a different log in. Honestly I have no idea. Back on my regular account though
  • Hello I have not been on in awhile. Changing jobs and so busy. Saw this post. My 8 week old had her shots today too. Little crying when she got them but I fed her right after. Got her home and cuddled. Put her down in pack n play she cried a little now holding her she ate and has been out cold for an hour at least.

I think it was harder on me this morning than her.

My Dr told me the one vacc could cause fever so to monitor w rectal thermometer if we feel she has a fever.

Hope everything stays good with your little one.

  • I genuinely didn't mean any harm, just to clarify.
