I think this is my first random poll. lol.
What color eggs do you buy? Do you pay more for cage-free? I'm not polling whether or not you buy organic. Just caginess and color. :P

I would LOVE to have chickens but unfortunately we live in a neighborhood where we can't have them!
My parents always buy brown.
The words cage free or organic mean absolutely nothing on egg cartons. A bird can live it's life inside a barn on a concrete floor with fluorescent lights and still qualify as organic and cage free/free range. If your going to buy eggs at the store save your money and buy what's cheap. There isn't any difference in brown or white eggs it depends most on the breed of the chicken. Oh and most of your store bought eggs are at least 6 weeks old when they hit the shelf. Also many of them are washed with a bleach solution. Egg shells are porous to allow moisture to a growing chick, so if they are washed in bleach water they absorb it as well.
This is what a free range/cage free organic chickens look like.
And these are what their eggs look like.
*note. People save their egg cartons for us.

And I'm not saying that if you buy just any old egg at the store you don't care. Some people simply do not have an option to buy straight from the farmer. I'm just saying don't get scammed by a "organic" label.

The state of the shell has to do with the age of the chicken nothing to do with the type of egg

Me to a t. I'm thinking of sneaking some hens in my yard with a pen and camouflaging from the hoa. I'm actually really surprised more don't buy cage free. Poor chickens.

yea at the grocery store, in fact my uncle in law gave us eggs from his chickens and they tasted almost the same as the ones I buy at the store.
