Lucas Anthony birth story

Short: Lucas Anthony born July 31st at 4:33pm via c section after 14hrs of trying to induce. 9lbs even, 21 inches. Long: went in on that Monday to the Ob office for my weekly apt. My BP spiked while there to 168 over 100 and doc felt inducing would be the safest choice since I had started seeing spots/ stars and my swelling was crazy bad. I asked if we could induce Wed because I was terrified of going straight to the hospital and was being overly protective of my natural birth plan. Reluctantly the dr agreed. Wednesday morning at 6am I called the hospital to see about getting a room but they were full. Called back every four hours until finally calling my dr. He made a few calls and called me back saying they were super busy but he didn't feel comfortable with me waiting any longer so we might have to come in at midnight since things usually slowed down at night. At 8pm I got the call that the room was ready and to come on down. Hubby and I loaded up and met my mom at the hospital. Doc came right in and started Cytotec. Immediately I started feeling contractions. They weren't registering very high but man they hurt. They came every 2-3 min. Doc came back in at 8am to check for dilation. I was still only 60% effaced with zero dilation. At that point I was sent to get an ultrasound. With my BP high doc wanted to see how big baby was measuring. Around 9am doc came in and said baby was measuring around 9lbs 8 oz and that he felt like a c section would be our best option. He said he was worried about me not dilating and baby getting stuck. I asked if we could try a few more hours. After walking and waiting til noon, I was checked again with no change and agreed to a c sec. I was terrified but the hubby was great at keeping me calm and the surgery went fine. My little man is as perfect as can be and I'm home from the hospital as of yesterday.
