TTC after 35

White Discharge 4DPO?

I noticed yesterday morning that I had some creamy white discharge. I hope all of you were eating cream of wheat while you read that. MWAHAHAHAHAA.

I've had a bit of a weird cycle for me - my fertile mucus was thinner and clearer than usual, as well. Plus I'm on day 2 of a migraine, which usually only shows up right before O and right before AF.

Is the Femara playing wacky games with me?

I'm also wondering if I should take the progesterone stashed in my fridge. Last cycle it didn't do anything besides give me a monster migraine. If I start taking it tonight, will it help?

Oh, and BTW I don't temp. I know it's super helpful, but I'm trying to draw some lines because my natural instinct is to go really crazy, and make everyone around me crazy. So OPKs, a CD10 US, and Femara CD2-6 is all I'm doing.
Me: 38 DH: 40 TTC#1 (and likely only) since 9/13. Saw RE 5/14, SA good, AMH 2.36, FSH 7.2, estradiol 69.6 indicating good egg reserve. Using OPKs. First Letrozole cycle 6/14, a burst cyst and a BFN. Second Letrozole cycle 7/14, BFN.

Update 11/14 - had laparoscopy 10/28, good news is that my uterus and left tube look good, and they were able to drain the cyst on my left ovary. Bad news is that right tube and ovary have endo and scar tissue, so they're pretty useless.. Best news is that we finally have some answers and a path forward. Taking 7.5 mg letrozole CD 2-6 to put that good left ovary through its paces.

UPDATE 2/2015 - We switched to another fertility clinic, but fortunately we don't have to start all over. We're doing two cycles of Clomid plus IUI, if neither of those take, we'll do IVF in April, potentially with ICSI. (DH's SA has gone downhill, likely due to excessive exercise.) IUI#1 2/25/15....

You might have bacteria vaginosis. Fairly common when TTC (from all the sex) and fairly common with use of meds. Harmless for the most part, but you will need an antibiotic to clear it up.

  • I have creamy CM a lot after O - I wouldn't be concerned. I've noticed through the last 8 months of trying that every cycle seems to be different and I have been obsessed with noticing "symptoms", most of which mean nothing. The symptoms I had with my early miscarriage are pretty much identical to every non-pregnant cycle...I found it just made me crazy. You can have fertile type CM at any point in your cycle. Unless it has a foul odor, I wouldn't worry.

Thanks guys. It was odorless and I don't feel any discomfort. Plus it's gone away, so I doubt it's an infection.

I'm at a point where I want to know if the drugs are doing anything - I had an US on CD10 and another CD13, at which point the doc said he had nothing to tell me and couldn't figure out if I was about to ovulate or already had. I'm frustrated and sick of being in the dark so much.

  • After O (usually around a week afterward, but sometimes sooner/later), women can have a secondary estrogen surge that will cause CM to pick back up.  It doesn't mean anything really.  Maybe that's all it was.  I wouldn't worry about it at all.  Hope you caught the egg!
