Working out while pregnant...

Okay so I've become a "gym rat" of sorts in the past year or so in an attempt to lose weight and get fit to get pregnant. And it worked! I lost about 25 lbs and went down like 3 sizes! (score!) My plan is to keep going to the gym throughout the pregnancy but I started my run today and omg my boobs hurt SO much! I had to bring it down to a fast walk on an incline... and i had on my tightest sports bra!

Blah! and waking up to go at 530 is going to get old really fast.... sleepy time... at my desk. :)

Any other pregnant work out girls out there feel my pain?

  • Yes! I have lost almost 100lbs in the last two years with just eating healthy and exercising here at home. I was working out 6 days a week until the last few days. I've had two miscarriages and don't want to overdo it this time so I think I will talk with my OB today at my appt. And see what they suggest. If anything once I hit the 12 week mark I will get back on it, just not as hardcore as I was.

  • I wear two bras when I work out. It's the only way to keep my boobs happy, especially when breastfeeding. Yikes!

  • I wear 2 bras when running. The tatas hurt to bad to not give them ALL the support.
  • So sorry to hear about your loss! :( but congrats on the 100 lb weight loss! that's AWESOME! I have to hand it to you. That is amazing... I will def not be has hard core at the gym. it is already becoming so easy to say ehhh i'll go tomorrow...

    Two bras... that's something to consider!!
  • I've been working out like crazy but haven't lost much and I'm still not in great shape. I'm still bf'ing my 9 month old- this one was a bit of a surprise. I decided to stick to low impact- walking, cycling, elliptical... But I can't gain much weight at this point for my health so I'm really going to try to put the time in!
  • Thank you @rkelly710‌. :) I was in a bad wreck in 2012 and gained soooo much weight from not being able to work and dang steroid shots. I got up to 315 lbs and felt and looked horrible. I'm down to 220 lbs now which is still not my 180lbs goal but much better than where I was!
  • @hdp61813 oh no! steroids are the worse! I have crohns disease and they will put me on them if i got into a flare and I ALWAYS puff up like a balloon! in 2012 I had my worse flare ever and was on them for months! (i was a crazy person on them too!) I just recently had a mini flare in may and since i was doing weight watchers and working out i was able to keep the weight gain down but the urge to eat everything is so hard to over come!!

    rachelsb81 I know they say any type of activity and keeping your body moving is the best, (more so if you were doing it before!) I was taking a yoga class earlier in the year and I loved it! (but my groupon ran out!) so i might have to actually pay more $ for it this time around... but prenatal yoga is supposed to be great!

  • Bless your heart! That's tough but at least you found a balance with weight and steroids. It's definitely not easy.
