Reese is restarting chemo tomorrow, and apparently the next 8-10 weeks is the hardest on them with chemo. She is back on steroids again, every other week for about 8 weeks. This chemo will drop her immune numbers again as well--and her other numbers (red blood cells and platelets too) so she is susceptible to infections and fevers. Which may mean a hospital stay.
With the steroids are grocery bill is going way up again. Last time on the steroids, Reese was eating a full pizza pie a day! (or at the very least 6 slices). There was one morning from the time she woke up until 11am, she had 3 slices of pizza, a box of frozen waffles, two things of yogurt and a 1/2 gallon of milk. Plus the 'roid rage, and all the other side effects.
Whenever I tell anyone that we are starting delayed intensification next, they have a knowing look and they go well it is only about 8 weeks. She will lose her hair again, it was starting to grow back.
Hopefully this round goes smoothly and she has minimal side effects, like the other rounds of chemo.
