BRU Completion Coupon

I remember with my son that I received the completion coupon for my registry 2 weeks before my due date. Heck, by then we had already purchased everything so we got no use out of it. I read somewhere that you can actually go to the in store registry center and request your coupon and they'll give it to you. Does anyone happen to know how soon you can do this? I was hoping get to do one last shopping spree at 34 weeks and use it then but I'm not sure of they'll give it to me that early. Plus, what happens if some of the items on your registry are "online only" and can't be purchased in store? I know that the coupon is only good for exactly what is on your registry so would they let me change my registry quick before checkout?

  • They've let me add items to my registry before checking out so that I get the rewards points for everything. You just have to go to customer service before you hit the register. Also, some folks have said they took a registry gun as if they were updating their registry and just scanned things as they put them in the cart, then checked out. This was at target but I'm sure BRU would work too.

I have been asking BRU all sorts of questions regarding this, and getting varied responses. But, here is what I've gotten for definitive answers...

    1. You receive the coupon 6-8 weeks before your due date, either in the mail or email. And you should get a phone call prior to that.

    2. The coupon has a code, which technically you can use twice, but has to be on the same day. Once online and once in the store. Good for anything on your registry. They say it's a "one-time use only", but really you can use it twice. And, supposedly if you use it online and then "can't make it to the store" that same day to use it, you can request another coupon, and they might be able to get you another one to use, but can't promise it.

    3. Depending on your store's location, the coupon is either 10% or 15%. And some stores will do 20% for credit card holders. And if they don't, you may be able to talk the manager into pulling strings for you to get the 20%.

    4. I was in at BRU today asking some questions, and they gave me a 10% completion coupon on the spot, not connected to my registry or anything. So, I think I'll also be getting the one in the mail. You may be able to get something like that also if you go in asking questions.

That's what I've found out so far...hope that helps!! :)

    You are amazing... thanks!
  • I'm more excited about the gift card I'll recieve for all the stuff bought off my registry. But I dont think that comes for like 10 weeks after.your due date.

I know... it'd be ideal if they sent it before to finish up your registry. But this way you have to shop twice. Suckers. :/

  • @victoria+james‌ great idea!

We only registered at bru for the completion coupon...nobody even knows about it. My mom wants to buy us a crib, which is sold there, so I'd be happy to give her the coupon...I'll look into changing the due date.

  • You can always change your "expecting" date online to an earlier date so they'll send it sooner...
I did this. I changed my date to July 17th, vs. October 17th. It ensured that I got my coupon in plenty of time and since we are moving, I didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle. Since this is LO #2, I'm not actually sharing my registry so it doesn't matter what date is on it. I got my coupon a few weeks ago and it doesn't expire until 12/31/14, so there's still plenty of time to use it after LO arrives as well.

  • I just went in last week and asked them for my completist ion coupon and they gave it to me. It was 15% your entire purchase for one day.
  • I'm resurrecting this thread to ask if there's anyone else who still HASN'T gotten their completion coupon yet?

I went to the registry desk at BRU the other day and asked about it and they told me I would get it 4-8 weeks AFTER my due date. I told them that was not what I was told and that by that time it would be useless because my baby could be 2 months old and i need to finish my shopping now. They were not interested in helping me at all so I just wanted to make sure that this was unusual before I call and harass them about it.

I know a lot of you changed your due dates to get it sooner but at this point I'd be claiming my baby was born a month ago so I don't know if that would help.

  • I got mine about 3 weeks ago. It said right on the site you will get it before your "event" date.

Don't think I got mine yet, but DH and I went last weekend and they just gave me a coupon to use.  Actually we only bought a couple of larger items so they gave us 20% off coupons instead of the 15% completion coupon.

  • I JUST dealt with this yesterday! I got a call that I would be getting my completion coupon "shortly"a month ago! Last night we went there with a bunch of gift cards I got for my last shower, which was yesterday. I asked them about it and they just gave me one. They also handed me a scanner to add things to my registry if I wanted to to make sure I got everything with a discount.
  • Hmm...should I maybe check at customer service rather than the registry desk? When they told me I wouldn't get it till after edd I said I was pretty sure that was wasn't how it worked and the guy said he was pretty sure it was but didn't bother to check anything.
