Trouble TTC

First RE appt update

Sorry I have been MIA I've been lurking more lately, and haven't said too much.

Well my DH and I went to meet with the RE for the first time, he is awesome and super funny! He had us laughing though our entire appointment. He disagrees with my OB and does not think I have PCOS ( but still a possibility) he has ran a ton of test and some on my DH. His came back normal and good but we are still waiting on the rest of my blood work. So I'm tying to stay positive and keeping my mind clear. Hoping for good test results.

I find it a bit amusing. In a way I hope they Find something wrong so that it can be fixed and at the same time I hope I'm fine and that it's all in my head so I can save my $$. (lol)

Any ways I hope to post an update about the update soon!

Wishing you ladies all a fabulous week! :)

Re: First RE appt update

  • Glad you liked your RE!

I agree about the diagnosis; I knew going into my testing that I wasn't ovulating but it's nice to know what it is so it can be fixed. I hope your testing comes back soon and you can get a treatment plan set up!

  • Was not expecting to wake up to an email from my RE, my testing came back and shows I have PCOS, my treatment plan is to start me on letrozole. So we have a diagnosis, and an action plan. I have an appointment to set up to meet with the RE to get the directions on the letrozole and start my first cycle ASAP.
  • I'm glad you have an answer and a plan.  And how great that your RE responded so quickly.  I just LOVE doctors who are good at communicating when they know the majority of their patients are anxiously awaiting information!

Good luck as you start your plan!

  • I'm so glad that you like your RE--it makes going to those appointments so much better.  I agree, it's nice to have a diagnosis so that there is a more clear path to treat it.  That's great that your RE is so proactive to let you know the results so soon.  Good luck this cycle!
  • Good luck with the letrozole! I'm on my second cycle with it for originally unexplained IF, now it looks like MFI decided to make an appearance at precisely the time we had our first IUI, so that was fun.

  • Well my results were not super quick my appt was on the 29th i guess I should have clarified that and then I Decided late Sunday to post an update. Then bam first thing this morning. I got the email. And I can not explain how funny my RE is, all the nurses talk about all the laughter they hear while he is in with patience. At first I found it strange but it was relaxing in a way to make light of a crapy situation. . Thank you all for the good luck wishes with my first cycle! :)
