Diaper size/weight Poll

So my daycare lady once again is telling us we need to go up in size in diapers and I am disagreeing... I also just stocked up on diapers a while ago so have about 4 boxes I want to use up..I know I could go exchange size but I kinda disagree I feel the size he is in now are a little big..

He is 24 lbs 11 oz and has been wearing a size 5--I swear they are kind of big and no issues leaking etc..  she is saying he needs to go up in six.. its like well soon have no sizes left for the kid and once you go up in size you get less diapers in a box

Can you let me know what size you are using and aprox weight.. I want to make sure Im not sounding crazy if I argue with her and again isnt it my choice not hers. GRRR

    Dd is 23lbs and wears a size 5

    ETA: I have to say the size fives are a little big, she can still fit in a 4 but she leaked a lot at night.

    M is probably 26 or 27 lbs and wears size 4 Huggies Little Movers during the day and size 5 Pampers Overnight.

    She's about 23lbs and wears 3's during the day and 4's at night.
    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
    IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
    Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13

    DD is around 21 pounds, and still in size 3.  We use the Target Up and Up brand during the day and Pampers Baby Dry at night.

    Same weight, same size and brand diapers.  I use the same diapers at night with no issues.  I am looking to move to size 5 when I buy the next box, though, since these are getting a little snug.  I agree....less diapers in the bigger sizes, so why go bigger if it isn't completely necessary.

    He wears 18 month size clothes... Ok it looks like most people are in smaller or same size as us..he is only 30.5 inches tall..a little short.

    DS is probably close to 20 pounds now and is wearing pampers size 3 (Swaddlers or Baby Dry) or Up & Up size 3 with no problems.

    probably completely irrelevant since we're behind the curve and all, but S was almost 16 and a half lbs at her one year and we just moved her up to size 3...

    what are the weight limits for the size you're currently in? I think our Huggies go from 16 lbs to like 26 lbs so we don't usually move her up in size until she's close to hitting the limit. Either way, maybe as your DC person why they wanna move up in sizes so bad. If he's blowing out of them all the time during the day (because usually at DC's they don't get changes AS often as at home) then maybe it is time to move up. Or at least, send bigger sizes to DC and keep the smaller size being used at home until you're out?

    20lbs and a size 3 during the day and a 4 in his overnight diaper.

    Well I have a big kiddo. He's probably 28-29lbs range but is really tall. He was 32.5 at his one year so he's at least 33 maybe 34 (we have been in a never ending growth spurt it feels like). He's in 2T clothes. All of that being said, he's comfortably in size 5s with room to spare. I think your daycare lady is nuts to say size 6. We use the cruiser during the day and baby drys at night.

    DD is about 21 pounds 31 inches, she is in size 4 pampers swaddlers. Daycare provides diapers, and they still put size 3s on her. I believe they use Luvs.

    She is 19 lbs, and fits into a size 3. She is CD'ed most of the time, but wore disposables this past weekend, and the 3's are perfect.

    DS is 27 lbs, 31 1/2 inches, wears 18 month clothing and is in size 5 Pampers Swaddlers. I can tell they are getting smaller on him and we've had a couple of overnight pee leaks so we may be moving up soon...

    So, I just went on Amazon and did a little bit of research... all of the size 4 diapers are for children 22-37 lbs. Now I understand that every baby is different and things fit differently for everyone but given that your child is not outside of that weight range (and would be waaaay outside of that for a size 6) and the diapers he's in right now seem too big still and he hasn't had any leaks, I'd be damn pissed if my daycare was telling me to move up a size.  Tell her you are the parent, you're spending the money, YOU will decide what size diapers he wears.

    DX: PCOS/Recurrent losses/MTHFR mutation (compound hetero)
    5 hysteroscopies/2 surgical
    3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
    IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
    IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!

    All of this, same size weight and height wise and in 2T but he still wears a size 4 just fine.

    19 lbs and was 31 inches at 12 months. He wears a 3 still. :(

    Last they weighed him he was at 23ish lbs. He wears size 4 in Huggies Snug and Dry and overnights. He's tall and thin like his dad.
    Started adoption process in Jan. 2011.
    3 failed matches in 2012.
    Surprise pregnancy in Aug. 2012.
    Precious baby boy "HC" born May 2013.
