I'll let him play and talk as long as he wants, I only take him out of his crib if he is crying, more then a whimper, actually serious crying...even then I wait 5-10 minutes. He played and talked (he was happy) in his crib for 45 minutes Saturday, he finally fell asleep and slept for 3 hours...I'm so glad I didn't cave and go in and get him! Those three hours were WONDERFUL!!
Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

I'm the same. DS sometimes falls asleep before the door closes, or talks to himself/animals, "reads" a book, sings for up to an hour before he'll fall asleep. As long as he's not screaming, I let him be. If it's bedtime, he's usually pretty wiped out, but it's not uncommon for him to take a little while to fall asleep for nap time. If he's full on crying, then I will try to sooth him, but if it's just simple fussing/whining (I'm assuming there is a clear difference for your child as there is with mine), then I let him be.
