Swimming and Rubber Pants

-For those who haven't done swimming lessons, have you made any personal effort to teach your kid to swim? We just joined the local pool, and I'd love to go over some stuff with LO in the kiddie pool if I could, just to help him get ready. Wish we had gotten around to swimming lessons this summer; maybe in the fall!

-The pool says kids should be wearing swim diapers AND "rubber pants", and I cannot figure out what the hell they're talking about "rubber pants". I've looked online a bit but can't figure out what might work. For those who needed them, what did you buy?

I don't want to ask because A, I figure I'll try to just get away with a swim diaper + swim shorts, and, B, everyone who works at the pool is about 15 years old. Yesterday I heard one lifeguard ask another, what is this song (playing over the PA), it sounds like opera. It was "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones.

I think they still make them. I swear I saw some at Target one weekend with their swim baby/toddler swim stuff. At our pool we only wear a disposible swim diaper and all the other babies/kids do to. I think the rubber pants are overkill. I guess the point is to keep a poop in the pants and not have it leak out?
