  I have some charcoal bamboo inserts to stuff pockets. They are not trimmer than microfiber at all. In fact they are usually microfiber on the inside with a layer of charcoal bamboo on the outside. I think absorbancy is pretty equal, maybe a bit better. I like them since it means I don't have to touch microfiber which I can't stand the feel of.
  
  There has been some discussion on here about the safety of them. Most come from overseas and there has been no testing done about having charcoal next to babies skin. I only use them in pockets and it's not so much of a concern to me, but it is something to consider if you choose to use them.

  I like to add our charcoal bamboo to our overnight dipes sometimes, but they definitely aren't what I use when I'm looking for "trim"

  Thank you for the replies! I ended up googling it too and did read a blog on the safety. So I decided I'm going to pass on it and just find some pure bamboo or hemp :-) thanks!
