Hey Ladies. My mom had to rush my dad to the ER last night with stomach pains. Turns out he has gallstones. So he will soon have surgery to either endoscopically (is that a word?) remove the gallstones or just take the whole gallbladder. It's weird that I'm relieved that that's all it is because he's already had a rough year with prostate cancer and removal in February and March. But, if you could spare some T&Ps that whatever solution they decide on goes well that would be awesome. Thank you so so much.

As for the gallstones, just glad that the surgery should eliminate all of that pain. That's a lot to go through in a few months time. Hang in there.
I had my gallbladder taken out about 10 years ago (maybe more), and I have an iron stomach now, dude. Nothing bothers me. I feel MUUUUCH better (then again I didn't have stones, it just wasn't functioning). It will take some time for the body to understand how to work without a gallbladder, if that's the way his surgery ends up going. It took maybe a year for me to be able to eat certain things, but now I can eat anything and pretty much know I won't have a stomach ache. The worse part of the surgery was the gas bubble in my shoulder--which sucked MAJORLY, but it's not a bad surgery to come back from if he gets the laproscopically. (is that spelled right? spellcheck is no help and I'm too lazy for google)

It's a GIRL!!!
He's having an endoscopy (down through his throat) tomorrow (Tuesday) morning to remove the gallstone, then Wednesday he will have his gallbladder out (laparoscopically, like you said). Hopefully he'll be going home Wednesday afternoon/evening!
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Yep, they said he could be home as early as Wednesday evening, but Thursday morning at the latest. I thought it sounded early, but they know best, I guess!
