Pregnant after a Loss

pregnant after 2 losses

I'm a diabetic so I have a high risk pregnancy. I've suffered 2 losses due to not knowing I was diabetic. That was 4 years ago fast forward to the last 3 months, we were in the middle of buying a house and dealing with a wedding and trying to plan a family vacation so I wasn't taking the best care of my Blood Sugars and came back with an A1C of 12. I was devastated I did have an ultrasound and the sack looks good and I saw a heart beat and the last 3 weeks I've been taking care of my BGL and keeping them tight! Do you think I am doomed with this baby as well? I'm so scared I don't think my heart can handle another loss even though we weren't trying and this was a COMPLETE surprise we are happy and scared all at the same time!

  • Welcome and congratulations! Focus on the fact that baby looks good and has a beautiful heartbeat! You're focusing more on your sugars now, so hopefully your little one will be just fine. Sending T&P that both of you stay healthy and that you're able to work through all the life events/stressors so that you can relax and put your feet up a little bit :)

  • Congrats and welcome.  I agree with the other ladies, focus on the fact that the baby looked great and you have a heartbeat.  Now you can really focus on taking care of yourself.

  • Congrats and welcome! Just focus on getting that a1c level back down and getting healthy for you and baby. My cousin was in a similar situation when she got pregnant and she is now 33 wks and her a1c is down to 7! Good luck ((hugs))
